BHS 'Think Before You Breed' Campaign

I was speaking to mum the other day about how many cr*p horses seem ot be coming through as young horses at the moment, so really support this. Fair enough some foals dont always live upto thier parents, but theres so much irresponsible breeding going on, and i think its really great the BHS are doing something about it.

ETA - OP; your oil paintings in you sig look really fab. how kind of you to donate one :)

I'm convinced those who need stopping are blind and deaf to the pleas for restraint. The should be regulation but it's not going to happen because it's too difficult to put into effect. I tie myself in knots trying to work out how to discourage people or levy some sort of fee/fine for random foalings.

We have a brilliant pony jumper with talent to spare. However, she is quirky and conformationally poor. In a word, she's a bit of a freak. I'm under no illusions whatsoever her temperament and confo make it a likelihood she'd pass these on, and without her jump, what would we have? A rubbing rag, that's what.

Nothing on this earth could persuade me to breed from her, much as I'd love her double in a slightly larger size. Nothing.

Just a last thought to breed from an unapproved stallion in Germany would be a criminal offence in Engalnd we have no rules.
