Just measured my 14.2 for hoof boots as due to her having PSSM she is working much harder than her feet are ready for. She's got really good feet but I don't have an arena so we are hacking out for 1-2 hours every single day plus she is out 24/7 on a hardcore turnout surface.

Her feet are 154 wide and 135 long. I really wanted renegades but they don't seem to be big enough. Her feet don't look that big and I am wondering if I've spectacularly stuffed it up so will do it again tomorrow.

Was hoping to find some second hand but I think she would be a 6 in cavallos and don't see anything like that size on eBay. I need to get them quickly so I can maintain the same level of work as well.

Any bright ideas. Otherwise I will have to get fronts on until I can get boots sorted out.

It is hard for horses with big feet, particularly wider than long ones. My 14.3's are bigger than that so you may well have it right. I would approach The Saddlery Shop and see if they have any suggestions, you can also have them on trial. More expensive than secondhand off e-bay, but cheaper than 3 pairs secondhand none of which fit!

For mine I couldn't get anything, particularly as he dishes in front so tended to flick them off if the fit wasn't perfect. I ended up with a pair of Swiss Horse Boots, which are heat fitted for the horse so can be stretched to fit even if the quoted sizes are slightly smaller.

If you can't find anything there is a new boot coming out soon - https://www.facebook.com/scootbootd...303908530054/1537821623144949/?type=1&fref=nf . One of the Phoenixhorse Forum users asked the makers about larger sizes and particularly wider than long sizes and got a very positive response so fingers crossed (though not much use to you immediately).

Nothing to help you OP, but thanks LN for the info about those scootboots, they look interesting :) my cob is 140 x 140 so just about fits into easyboot glove wides, but I like the look of scootboot fastenings better. Hope there will be some reviews on them when they come out :)

I saw the scoot boots on a FB ad the other day. I'm just amazed how big her blooming feet are!

I will phone them thanks Laura.

I had cavallos for another horse and I didn't like them, too clumpy and nothing I did stopped them rubbing her pasterns but I'm starting to think it will be them or shoes in the short term.

I also have easy boot epics for another pony and while I like the boots getting them on and off is such a pain in the backside.

I rarely use boots but nor have I been in this situation before, it's quite tricky.

My Welsh D x had enormous feet for her height of 15.1. Mind you, her withers were very high too so really she was only about 14.3hh. She had decent bone and quite big joints but overall she took after her arab blood so was not heavily built at all. The farrier said her feet should have been on the ends of legs of at least a 16hh horse.

Currently out clumping in the cavallos. Ordering renegades when I get home. Hate cavallos just about fell over on mud about three times. Would rather get her shod than these :(

I hate Cavallos as well. Not tried renegades but had good use of Old Mac G1s on a wider than long pony (hard to find them now but they're still out there) and wide back countries-no rubbing with either. Wouldn't bother ordering anything else first now tbh than the back countries-fit can be a little more forgiving than the plain gloves.

Good luck with that one! I've just spend an hour whinging to the barefoot trimmer about stupid big wide feet, long legged over reachers and annoyingly small boots.

I cannot get boots to suit Roo. The angle of his hoof wall doesn't suit gloves and her over reaches off the Rengades :(
The gloves may work for you. They are really quite stretchy and often fit a lot large than expected. Roo measures 145mm wide (by 130mm long) and the size 3W gloves (up to 140mm wide apparently) are too big.

I've have both Renegade 4WW's and 3W Gloves I need to sell if you're wanting second hand?

Wheeeee bought the lovely Kallibear's renegade boots from her and they fit perfectly and the grip is brilliant. Far superior to easyboots (and let's not even mention cavallos!!) and sooo easy to put on and off. Chuffed to bits. :)
