As am having a hard time getting any joy with Argos themselves, wanted to put a big Thank You out somewhere to the lovely lorry driver who stopped & helped with my horse earlier.

Briefly, horse half pulled off a shoe & pricked sole, blood everywhere and twisted shoe we couldn't get off & me & friend were both ride & leading, 4 miles from home on narrow country road. The lorry came round corner & I thought eek! Bless him tho he stopped along way up the road & my friend went to enquire if he had anything we could use to take shoe off, he had a wrench which we tried to wack it off with but no joy.

Luckily a local horsey chap turned up & this point & so we gave poor driver his blood covered wrench back & discussed how to get the lorry past (horse rubbish with lorries, & we didn't want to make her move) He again was lovely, offered to drive lorry closer, turn engine off & so we could walk past :)

I know it doesn't sound much but do much is made of bad drivers (quite rightly) & so I wanted to say thank u, I have called Argos home delivery & chap took my details but have no hopes of it bring passed on, also the driver could have been an agency driver so they would have trouble finding him anyway, but still, wanted to do something :D

So Thanks Mr Argos driver :D

Thanks chaps, horse is fine so far, was sound all the way home but once we got home was resting it, have given it a good wash & poulticed it, luckily it doesn't seem as bad as the amount of blood suggested!

Be keeping a v close eye on it :)

Have just called the local horsey bloke who stopped to say Thanks too, so at least one person as been properly thanked :D

Try writing to them - I wrote to a haulage co when a driver was incredibly understanding when my horse flipped out at the sight of his waggon and I got a thank you back, plus they passed on my letter :)

Agree ^^^. They should at least be able to know which depot the lorry came out from and hopefully pin it onto the noticeboard so the driver can spot it even if he only comes in occasionally from an agency.

Bless him :)

Try Farcebook - I think Argos have their own page, leave message of the reg (if you know it) or the time and location and I am sure it will get back to the driver :)

Really nice to read stories like this with do many inconsiderate drivers around. I had a fall in September and the car travelling behind me stopped and took care of me then took me back it the yard. I asked their names but wish I'd asked where they lived as it'd have been nice to send them a proper thank you.

If you let them know when and where you were, they should be able to track down the driver, or at least narrow the search.

What a nice bloke :)

What a nice guy, sounds like he deserves the male equivalent of a bunch of flower ............. a beer??!!

Those Argos trucks are huge and, even my horse who's really good in traffic is scared stiff of them.

Hope your horse's foot recovers soon.

I have sent a nice email to the customer service team with the time & road on it so hopefully they will find him :D

Horse now feeling sorry for herself, milking it for treats :D She was very good waiting, especially as I was on my own with 4 of them while friend got lift with local horsey bloke to get some farrier tools

Stories like these really do restore some faith, especially after all the bad experiences and horror stories that have littered the news of late.

I hope that your horse's hoof is OK!

If OP doesnt do FB can some one put link to this thread on Argos page. Dont ask me as im poo at that stuff but just idea to say thank you to a considerate person :)

^^^^ This, i work at Head Office for a massive transport logistics company, they`ll be able to pin point exactly who it was with ease .... nice to hear a good story for a change x

Yay for decent people! Well done for reporting him (in a good way lol)- I do this for every company I can that is careful driving past (when I say 'that I can' that means 'that I remember the name of').

Mainly the local bus company who are pretty good with horses (My boy had a massive spook into the middle of the road, and then when he recovered proceeded to have a poo still in everybody's way! Bus driver was fab), always tell them the time, location and bus number and they pass on my thanks :)

It helps speak good feeling between us and them, and I often get emails back thanking me for the praise. x

I have put a thank you on the main argos page, with a link to this thread Elle .... they have just replied with:

Argos: How wonderful Daisy, thank you so much for taking the time to advise us of this incident. We will endeavour to locate this driver and pass on your thanks. :) ~ Jacky

Thanks Daisy, hopefully someone will now find him :D

Just changed horses poiltice & was clean as whistle & her leg is fine & not swollen so hopefully have avoided anything nasty, typical over dramatic ginger horse bleeding all over the road & the nice man's wench for nothing :D
