Bit advice

My horse is currently in a neue schule loose ring french link but has started fiddling with it in recent weeks getting her tongue over it & grinding on it. She was starting to work in a nice outline but that's getting more intermittant and her concentration is non existent, she leans, is heavy in my hands or goes round with her head in the air and I cant keep her attention. I dont want harsher bit because shes not strong or silly but something that might get her attention and get her listening more. A Waterford has been suggested but I read they can be quite harsh. Any suggestions?
 
So this behaviour has appeared in "recent weeks", and she had her teeth done "a few weeks ago". It may be a coincidence, but it could also be that she has become uncomfortable as a result of her last dental treatment. Might be worth having her mouth looked at again?

The behaviour started well before the dentist came.
