Being a bit short of cash, I've been perusing eBay and Preloved for bargain NS or Myler bits, but on my travels I've come across a few new things I don't understand, so I'm calling on you guys to guide me and give opinions.

1. Myler copies - look OK but expensive if they're rubbish if that makes sense!

2. Cyprium mouthpieces

3. Argentan mouthpieces

4. Does brass work the same as copper in the mouth?

5. Do the hooks on the Myler make it more or less severe than a hanging cheek or fulmer? It looks like it might work like a gag.

Thanks!

Hmm I'm interested in the myler copies too. I had one a long time ago but it wasn't anywhere near as high quality as a proper myler. Wondering if they've improved at all!
Sorry op, can't help much as I don't have any cyprium bits and my sprengers are aurigan :o

The hooks do affect the bit though, I don't know if it is towards true gag action but I suppose it must be similar as they aren't dressage legal. Maybe more like dutch gag on a mini scale as the bit ring will rotate around slightly if the hooks are used. I *think*!! ;)

Ah. Apparently argentan is copper/zinc/nickel. Aurigan doesn't have nickel in it. Cyprium seems to have higher copper content, not sure what the rest is ;)
