.... but I am so desperate for puppy news! My dog had a romantic liaison with a very lovely Czech bitch five weeks ago and I can hardly wait to find out if it has worked! All being well, I should be adding a new addition to my pack at the end of November. Squeeee!

Can I join you on puppy watch? Bitch has been scanned and is due second week of September but they don't have big litters and I want a black dog so I'm playing the odds a bit!

I saw news of the liaison elsewhere WGsd should be interesting. I would imagine breeder will scan won't she ?

Exciting news blackcob, will keep everything crossed for you .

Kimberleigh and MM - I am not sure if the breeder will scan. She doesn't usually, so I'll probably just have to wait a bit longer. Ho hum.

Clodagh - yes it was a (very) physical encounter :D They tied six times in three days and for over half an hour each time! :o

This is the bitch.

And a bitch pup from an earlier litter (I could have easily stolen her!)

MM - how is your friend getting on with her new shepherd pup? My friend is having great fun with hers, but is exhausted LOL!

He's a cracking pup, she's delighted with him and very laid back. She was here on Friday and he did a lovely little track in my garden, not long obviously but he is very keen, very impressive for barely 12 weeks!

Ooh not long to wait for you!!! How exciting. What breed? Fingers crossed.

A schipperke - bit of a departure for me, I am not a small dog person, but have been won over by a friend's dog that I've known for years now and it ought to make a nice portable husky substitute and small agility dog. :)

Not looking forward to toilet training in November if all goes to plan but it can't be helped, it's been such a long time in the planning, I first made enquiries two years ago. There's been a collar and lead ready for it here since Crufts, 'cos I am a loony.

I know very little about GSDs but would be on the thieving list for that pup too, great pic of the intensity of her expression.

Isn't the waiting tedious?! :p

The wait seems to be interminably long! Like you, I will probably be moaning about having to house train in snow, wind and rain at the back end of the year so should enjoy this "free" time while we have it.

I know nothing about schipperkes, although they do remind me of little black foxes and I imagine they will be fun little dogs. Really looking forward to hearing more about your pup when you get him :)

Ooh very nice! What lines is the bitch? I have friends who compete IPO at worlds level and although I'm not a huge shepherd fan, some of their dogs are very smart

He was making up for the previous test tube one! :-) (And how is that pup doing?).
She is lovely. I wonder if the man with the arm gets funny looks when he fills in his job description?
Glad collie pup doing well. :-)

As matter of interest, why did you mate them twice on the same day ? Surely it would only affect the same ovulation so bit of a pointless exercise, even though I am sure he enjoyed it. :)

Ohh how exciting, pups are going to be beautiful!
I'm also waiting for puppies due mid September from my own bitch, panicking already!

The 9 weeks from mating to birth seemed interminable to me, then the next 8 weeks also dragged, but once we got Juno the time has absolutely flown by, she's almost 5 months now.

Sweep looks like he's doing really well, how old is he?

Looking forward to all the new puppy threads that will be coming soon :D

Thanks for the nice comments re: Sweep. He is now six months-ish. It is usually a bit of a gamble deciding when to take them to sheep for the first time but he has proven himself quite sensible and mature from early on. Really pleased with him so far.

The test tube pup is doing grand. His breeder and owner couldn't be happier with him. Very laidback and bombproof, yet drivey when in work.
