We seem to have done plenty of bouncing lately...some good and some not so good. At trec last weekend I had lovely mild mannered hacking pony on day 1, and feral unbacked loony on day 2. I decided I had effectively overbitted him in his bitless bridle by taking off the gel pad I usually use under the noseband and replacing it with sheepskin thinking it would be cooler on a hot day. But it was also a lot sharper and he could feel the rope noseband a lot more which he hated (he has severe pollen allergy so I think his head becomes hypersensitive). He was basically telling me to get off his face.

Anyways, this weekend the gel pad was back on and he went out to play at a local XC venue with us rocking our new lime green outfits..we felt very snazzy! I appreciate to most of you the fence in this picture will look tiny but the pony and I are not very brave so for us it was the Cottesmore leap! He felt amazing and I was really proud of him. We didn't do much as he hasn't jumped much since his sacroiliac injury 2 years ago. But I loved these still shots so much I had to show them off!

I got told by my photographer boyfriend that my tendency towards white or black saddle pads made for boring photos with a black horse so I had to brighten up!

Looking fantastic! Is that the eskadron green saddle pad? They have one on display in my local tack shop and I'm so tempted... even more so now :D

Having been very privileged to accompany the BBP last weekend I can assure everyone that he is absolutely beautiful and not at all bonkers, well not all the time. He looks stunning in lime green and behaved far better than B did on day one. Jumping pictures are really good and have to agree the first one needs to be framed.

Yes, first one is definitely going in a frame, I love it! He was such a cool dude yesterday, got a bit hot towards the end but generally brilliant!

He does tell you when he's not happy doesn't he?! Lovely pics and so good to hear how he's doing. He looks super smart.

Wow, he's looking fantastic! (Lime enhancement is ace)
You must be so so proud of where you've got him to

I'm so glad you got him to this point. You deserve it after all the struggling :) He looks as gorgeous as ever and I LOVE the lime!

Thanks! He is paying me back in spades at the moment...I keep waiting for it all to fall apart again but I'm enjoying every minute!

I really am. I love people saying how fab he looks. When I think back at how difficult things have been and how many times I hit the deck or saw my life flash before my eyes, or cried because he looked lame or off yet again it makes me grin to see him floating around looking all special now!

So pleased to see you both enjoying yourselves so much :D

Just don't ever lose that gel pad, maybe get a spare, or 3 :p

Hehe yes! I mean to be fair he is perfectly capable of being a plonker anyway so probably would have been a bit daft, but he got more and more reactive to me touching the reins, even a little bit,, I felt quite guilty afterwards.

Gorgeous pictures and I love the lime - it totally suits you both. I would definitely frame that first jumping pic and display it very prominently! x

Best excuse I have ever heard for a bit of horsey shopping! 😀

The lime green really suits his colouring. It's a shame the top of your head isn't in shot in the photo of him digging the water as that would also have been a lovely one to frame especially as I can see how happy you are from your expression :)

Also I think you were understating the height of that jump it looks huge especially in your first photo 🤤
