What type of mouth and cheek would you advise for:
IDxClydsdale 6yrs, fussy in mouth, not strong in anyway but can lean, and opens mouth a lot. Currently ridden in a Happymouth hanging cheek with a lozenge to most success but still not right enough for my liking. She has been tried in a Pelham but was too severe for her and a normal jointed snaffle she did not like either.
I am thinking Myler with a low port for tongue relief but not dressage legal and she would be competing in dressage.
I would think being the mix breeding she is a thinner mouthpiece would be helpful as perhaps she is finding the Happymouth bit too thick.
I normally use a normal Myler mouthpiece with eggbutt cheeks on my previous horses and have never really had any problems or had to play around with different bits. Due to never really having any problems I openly admit I am not so knowledgeable when it comes to bitting. Any one have any suggestions?
