radionics doesn't make any sense... but somehow it seems to work in certain cases. if i was at my wit's end, i'd try it. but only after full veterinary investigation, McTimoney Chiropractic treatment, trying a totally different saddle, EDT checking teeth, a lot of soul-searching and a lot of thought about what's going on, yadda yadda.
LizScott, if your horse is a headshaker, speak to Professor Knottenbelt about it. He told me more in 20 mins than i'd learnt in literally years from other vets...

veterinary examinations x 100 - check, new saddle - check, teeth (EDT qualified) - check, back (physio, McTimoney and a combination of both) - check, saddle fit- check and double check, soul searching/crying - check, wit's end - check .... that's why I'm trying it

For the cases that it is deemed to have worked, is there any evidence, besides anecdotal? I suppose there's no harm in trying it, but I'd probably be doing it secretly, under an alias, and I'd never, ever tell a living soul!

I don't have a problem with people trying alternative therapies - I said earlier that it wasn't something I would do myself but tbh, if it 'appears' to work and the owner is happy, does it matter if it was a coincidence? Provided they aren't being ripped off majorly, have the money and are happy to spend it that way...
My nan (RIP) spent the last 10 years of her life trying to cure rheumatoid arthritis. That made me sad (and ANGRY) because she spent all her money trying every alternative treatment under the sun and ALL promised they could make her better. Of course they couldn't - there is no cure, and they preyed on an elderly, desperate woman. However, SHE percieved there to be a difference with some of them, which made her happier in an odd way.
Placebo effect or not, it doesn't matter to me as long as you go into it with your eyes open, unlike my poor nan!

Sorry LizzScott, that last bit about the pills was aimed at spottyappy who gave her horse what sounds like unknown pills. And anyway, giving your horse pills in not mystic, it's just obviously filling in a medical gap your vet missed.
What will you do if the radionics or whatever it is doesn't work? You surely need a backup plan? I would just skip straight to it. I mean, sure if you want to give it a go then do, but if it doesn't work then you need to be able to do something else. How long have you had said horse? Is it getting better or worse? I'm guessing you've tried nose nets etc? Good news is in a couple of months the pollen should start to go down. I guess that will make it look like the box is working

lol I have no backup plan or idea tbh but if someone would like to suggest one then I will gladly skip off and try it
Yes he is ridden in a nose net, I have had him for about 2yrs I think, he is getting worse and as he usually headshakes until late September I think I'll have a fair idea of whether anything I try has worked

1) dont diss it until YOU have actually tried it 
2) doesnt work for all
3) may not completely cure
4) may completely cure
5) if you pay more than £30-40 a month you are being ripped off
6) doesnt have to be used forever, some can come off within a few months, some take longer, results remain
6) use a recommended practioner via another horse owner
7) I know a lot of racehorse breeders who use it, it does work for them, they dont through money away lightly.....neither to farmers.
8) I love the sarcasm in the posts of people who cannot accept it MAY work who have never tried it, just because they cannot come up with a scientific explanation
9) I was MAJOR skeptic
10) It can work and does work for some but not a magic cure for all.....
11) its relatively cheap and non invasive, worth a go if no other options
12) speak to some reputable racing yards, a lot of them use it
13) have friend who used it, worked for her after horse had traffic accident
14) dont know how the bloody hell it works coz it doesnt make sense, placebo effect impossible in some of horses issues i have seen......bizzare!
