I think she has figured out that she is being sold - some lovely people came to look at her last night. I rode her first I thought she felt a tiny bit stiff but I put is down to me being nervous (hate riding for people).
She looked alrigh with the girl and they got on really well. Then the mum asked
"has she always had that splint on her front leg?". Now I hadn't noticed it before but I'm not very observant so I just said "oh, I guess she must have"
Anyway, took her out of the box today and she is definitely unlevel in front. Not lame but not right either. The splint is warm and slightly sore to the touch. It is obviously a new thing. (at least I know I am not going crazy)
She's 12 and the splint is on the outside of her cannon bone. This seems unusual to me, I thought they generally appeared on the inside and on younger horses... any thoughts on this? And any ideas on how to help it form as quick as possible? Would devils' claw help?
So frustrating as she is not really lame but she is not sound enough to sell - she'll be fine in a week I should think but that is likely to be just long enough to put these people off and for the advert to run out. GRRRRRRRR it is maddening.
