just got back from camp at somerford park...am VERY tired and full of a cold but had a wicked time and very pleased with my pony (he's only 4)
smile.gif

first lesson was SJ and had a few hairy moments...meaning that i fell off....three times!

Was really strange, he was jumping really well but three times he stopped dead after the fence and dropped his shoulder sending me out of the side door
confused.gif
Now he can be a bit quirky but he's never ever done anything like this. but watching it back on the video i think i've worked it out- i think i was turning too much in the air to get turn to next fence and he didn't like it- he's always been REALLY sensitive to weight so this was probs too much for him. in my second sj lesson today really concentrated on keeping weight central and going straight and he was ace and didn't put a foot wrong
grin.gif
He jumped some biggish courses (about 85cms
grin.gif
) and jumped all of the fillers first time too
smirk.gif

the third time i fell off tho i broke my hat!
shocked.gif
it just sort of came apart which is a bit scary!

in my XC lessons he was AMAZING! he's jumped some really good stuff this weekend including drops to skinnies and over the tyre drop fence and even did the owl hole and a really big sharks teeth fence. he was a bit tired today so didn't do masses but he was brill yesterday

they had a mctimoney chiro at camp who did a work up and she said his pelvis is a bit wonky
frown.gif
so need to get that sorted asap. he's not lame at all but she said might cause probs long term if i don't get it sorted....bloody horses, costing me money
mad.gif

now got my lesson with mark todd to look forward to next week
smile.gif
then i will get his pelvis done and he can have a few weeks holiday
grin.gif

here are some piccies...CC quite welcome but please don't be too mean, i know i'm useless!

looks like he's defo maturing well done both of you x

Ohhh looks and sounds like he was fab, especially as he's pretty much a baby. Is nice to see him too, think i've only ever seen your siggi pics before.

ERm and how jealous am i that you're having a lesson with Mark Todd!? That's just not fair- you're showing off now! Look forwards to hearing about it.

i know i am SO looking forward to my lesson. just hope he doesn't try and deposit me on the floor. that would be very embarassing

He is gorgeous and lovely for a 4yo.

Just a thought is it worth you offering your hat to the manufacturers for research and feedback - sounds like it did it's job better broken hat than broken head!
grin.gif

i gave it to the guy who was the official first aider
smile.gif
he does health and safety lectures so thought it might make a good prop for him. TBF it was about 5 years old and has been used a lot and not looked after. the inner shell came away from the outer- was a bit scared that hats are made of a bit of polystyrene, masking tape and a shoe lace!
shocked.gif
actually more scary is the fact that its clearly been about to break for ages and i didn't know!
shocked.gif
good job i didn't land on my head

the SJ trainer gave me his 'trainer's award' because he said he's never had someone fall off three times in a lesson before and not be at all arsed about it
shocked.gif
i'm a bit worried that it doesn't scare me in the slightest?!! no self preservation?

yes am supposed to be in but i have the mother of all colds brewing so not fancying it if i'm honest
crazy.gif
i had a cold on friday but i think i might have made it worse by drinking a bottle of champers and two bottles of wine last night, sleeping in my trailer for only 5 hours and then riding all day

He looks lovely. I once fell off 18 on a half hour hack, off two different horses! Only felt better because my boss fell off 15. We came back onto the yard laughing like a pair of idiots.
