My grey TB horse has had a little time off and although he's kept his weight well over winter, he has lost a fair bit of muscle and is inclined to be a slender little thing. I'd really like him to 'bodybuild' a bit more muscle and have been upping his workload to get him to bulk up. I'd like to tweak his feed to give him the best shot at putting on weight.
What would you recommend?
He currently gets a scoop of Speedibeet with sunflower oil and Topspec feed balancer. He doesn't look poor at all and is full of beans as usual. He is not a fussy eater but I don't like to give him huge feeds as he struggles to get it all down, bless him! So I need to feed him something conditioning and preferably with a decent amount of protein in it. Any suggestions?
