Bonds between mares and geldings ?

Do you find your mares bond more with other mares or with geldings?

My mare is used to her field companions changing, but has normally always had mare friends, so I can't say!

My Section A mare seems to bond more with mares than geldings.

The ISH mare couldn't care either way as long as there's food to munch, she'd be quite happy on her own.

Breeze was with a gelding when. Got her her, then I put her with two mares, one f them she hated and got beaten up b everyday,I gt another young filly they became inseparable, I separated them in may and pt breeze n livery t back her she was on individual turnout next t geldings, now she lives at mums with a gelding, was tw geldings she hated one but will share her stable with the Shetland we have kept, but happily lets him be separated from her, but they never ever fight , would say this is her best Nd, but being nearly 4 now is more secure about being alone etc

Mine bond with either but I have found my mare prefers geldings and teams up with the gelding leader when in a pack.

They both can be quite awkward seperated at shows which we are working on.

My gelding has always been more towards other geldings, however, since the arrival of my mare last year the pair are inseparable! They love each other to bits.
