Please as many suggestions as poss!

Harley had a bit of Diarrhoea over the weekend. Nothing too serious, he was bright and playful in himself. But we ended up starving him from Sat pm until Monday am to sort it out. He's now on chicken and rice and scrambled egg and all seems to be fine. I want to keep him on it for a few days, but I have work tomorrow afternoon.... I usually leave him with a stuffed Kong (kibble melted in cheese and topped with peanut butter then frozen) and some chews and/or a bone. I don't want to give him any of those at the moment.... Think they may be too rich?

Has anyone any ideas of bland things I could give him or stuff his Kong with?

I always thought that dogs could not digest nuts, I would have thought that peanut butter was a no-no for a dog, especially one with a dicky tummy. Why don't you try buying a raw beef bone from your butcher ?

Agree a raw bone or something like canned tuna mixed with rice?
You can leave the kong empty if he will chew it, stuffing them is a recent invention :)

Can you feed raw bones if you feed dry food? I have a freezer full of them at home as OH got a little over excited at the butchers, but I had a panic attack when I read the Raw Diet posts on here...

I avoid raw stuff with ours because of my Goldie.
I would block the end of the Kong with some cheese, stand it in a mug, then fill it with natural yogurt. Put this in the freezer. They love it :D

Hope it helps

I wouldn't be feeding anything dairy if he has a bad tummy. Yuk.

A nice raw bone to chew will be grand

or

Stuff the kong with his breakfast.
Chicken at the bottom then rice on top. Pack it full.

I have NO idea why I didn't think of that!

It is now in the freezer... Layers of chicken and rice and scrambled egg! Pushed in really hard so hopefully it will last more than 2 minutes!

I had never heard you couldn't feed peanut butter... I was recommended it for Kongs, if you google stuffing Kongs loads of recipes contain it... He only has a tiny bit at the top and he seems ok on it.

Mine get at least a table spoon every day of peanut butter. Its fine for them. I buy the chunky one because its harder to get out of his toy.

If your eat up the kong quickly you should try one of these.

That looks good! Will have to get one to add to the collection. (out of interest as you feed RAW what do you put in it?)

Have you seen the Kong Wobblers? He got one of those a couple of months ago and is a a good timewaster... but can only put biscuits in it really.
