Meet Rebel. He just lovely
After spend a little while looking halfheartedly at unsuitable or over-priced horses (to replace Kalli
) we went a local dealer. He sells the exact kind of horse we were looking for (a big sensible ID hunter gelding) but didn't have what we wanted at the time so said he could bring a horse over for Ireland for us. He has a excellent reputation and and a lot of very nice sensible horses, which he buys from 3 breeders/producers in Ireland. He had a handful waiting in the wings and from photo's (and talking to the producer and a 5 stage vetting) we chose this one:
So after much waiting, hopping up and down excitedly, worrying and being massively impatieint, he finally arrive on Thursday night
We were VERY pleasantly suprised: slightly bigger than we thought (good thing!) and much more sports-horsey: we were expecting something a little more drafty. And he's also very well bred: he's a Section A RID, his dad's Huntingfield Rebel and his mums a premium grade mare. He's still only 4yrs old but will look amazing once he's grown up and filled out. Currently looks like a heavily boned TB (his knees are huge!)
One very worried but very well behaved new horse
And so far he's been FAB. Hacks amazingly and is sensible and quiet to ride but moves like a huge warmblood (MASSIVE trot that throws you right out the saddle). Gentle and quiet and laidback. He basically does exactly what it said on the tin
First hacking out
\
With his new friend Piper
Looking awfully like an overgrown donkey (his head really isn't oversized!)
All ready to go today
And licking his bowl(s) clean after being a very good boy
But now we need to register his show name (Breed papers are blank).
His pet name is Rebel, he comes from Ireland (Donnegal) and he's grey, so we'd ideally like those somewhere in the names. We've so far chosen Donnegal's Silver Rebelion but they need 4 suggestions apparently. I also like Batteries Not Included but have been overrulled
Any suggestiongs very welcome!
Oh, and a picture of Pips because he was a super good boy inbetween baby sitting Rebel, being a kids pony, and is rather put out by the new boy
