Anybody ever had this done on either themselves or their horse? How did you rate it?

Cheers

Hi, I've had it done on myself & my two horses. WOW.

For something that so relatively gentle, it is amazing that it works. But work it does, my two TBs have had a course of treatments from Lesley Bayley, one had 3 sessions, the other 4. My mare had an unlevel pelvis due to a muscle sprain/old injury. Lesley helped this muscle to release & she now stands still to be mounted & she's stopped being aggressive (as we were unknowingly hurting her!). My gelding had an old back & rump injury which she straightened out & he now collects on the bit, rounds up beautifully & is happy to use his back muscles & has muscled up nicely.

I had the therapy myself as I had back problems from falling off LOTS when I was younger & I sit at a computer all day. My first session I ached like crazy for 3 days afterwards like the therapist had walked all over my back and legs (!) but I felt more flexible after the 2nd session (I think I had 3).

I'd definitely recommend it, if you want Lesley's number, PM me, if you haven't found it elsewhere. She's not too far from you (Leicester) & she travels to North Cambs to see our local horses.

I've been amazed at the results on my pony (sore muscles probably due to saddle) - I wouldn't be able to say exactly how it works but it does - I would say go for it

Here is a link to a recent post on Bowen.

I can recommend Julian Gaze who is highly regarded from Worcester - he may travel to you.

My chap is having his 3rd treatment on Weds with Lesley

!! I'm a very sceptical person and don't believe in a lot of the 'hocus pocus' things that are around at the mo

, but this has made the world of difference.
I had Kay Humphries out at the beginning of May to sort my saddles out and she recommended EMRT, so I got in touch with a lady called Sue Connolly and she sent me Lesleys details.
After the 1st treatment I was a bit negative as ginger beast was quite un co operative in the school - very tense, more spoky than usual, and I wondered if he was in pain after it

(he did have rest days after treatment). I fed this back to Lesley on the 2nd visit, she worked on him (doesn't look like sh'e doing much!). I then took him in the school a couple of days later and he was awesome

, total self carriage etc I nearly cried (he'd also stopped leaning on the right rein which has been his fav evasion

)!! I jumped him Sat with my trainer and neither nor I couldn't believe how well he went, the best she's seen

!
So, its either the treatment, and / or saddles that have resulted in this transformation, I suppose I'll never know but long may it continue

Sorry for long reply

I had Bowen Therapy after a really bad fall about 18 months ago and I could not believe the difference in just one treatment. I walked in bent over in pain and walked out straight

I actually needed 3 more treatments and afterwards I was riding with my stirrups 3 holes longer

That would suggest that even though I felt alright before the fall I may not have been? I now go every 6 months for a sort of MOT and always feel the benefit.

I've also had a Bowen treatment on my girl and that was also good although, I now give her Reiki Treatments which seem to work just as well.
