Tried the trial sachets after my vet recommended adding Boswellia to my existing joint supplement. Am now using Equicure Flex which has Boswellia and Tumeric but also the glm and other things I wanted to feed. Seems to be helping.

I really rate it. My boy has mechanical lameness, he was born with a def3ctive front hoof, which puts pressure on his sholder. After using Boz Merix for 2 months, he has never been so supple. He is walking out so much better and his physio lady (who comes every 6 weeks) has noticed a real difference.

I had a trial. I didn’t find it made enough of a difference to justify the cost. I can’t remember now much it was but it was very expensive compared to other supplements.

My wonky mare is on Bozmerix for a variety of back, SI and hindlimb issues and it seems to help. It's meant to be a natural anti-inflammatory and also fine for ulcers, (which she also has!) She definitely seems less stiff and grumpy, she's gained weight as well. I would recommend despite the considerable expense!

Are there any downsides to it?

I was tempted to speak to be vet before winter to start my 23 year old TB on bute to help him through a bit easier but funnily enough this post came up and my vet posted on their Facebook page about it. I had never heard of it before

Which ingredient can't he have. Equicure do some supplements with Boswellia including concentrate so there may be something there you can feed.

I went with the flex powder as it combined my existing supplement with turmeric and Boswellia. I subscribe to get discounts.

I hadn't heard of this before, but making it available only through vets sounds like a money making scam as it doesn't appear to contain any drugs
I am not sure it is only through vets? I may be wrong but when I added it to the basket through sound equine it didnt ask for a prescription, but maybe it will if I proceeded further ?

Vets sell many things that aren't drugs. I assume they only want to sell through vets in order that it is perceived as different from the myriad of other supplements on the open market - doesn't mean it's a scam.

Thie of you have used the samples - are 2 sachets enough to see a difference?
No, my vet gave me a trial box of 10 sachets, we saw a difference after about 5 but my vet did warn it can take up to 10 days to see a difference.

My vets are a huge equine hospital and well aware that pony is not insured. They are happy to reccomend time rather than investigations/expensive treatment and they highly highly rate this stuff

My vet recommended it but what he actually said was Boswellia. He said Bosmerix is the one they stock but I could probably find cheaper equivalents. It also contains turmeric, soy and omegas. I already feed linseed which is an excellent source of omega oils in the right balance, not sure what the soy adds, so found alternative that contained turmeric and Boswellia.

It's Hestevard, the manufacturers who say they only supply through vets. Sounds like there is somewhere else but that fact it's not generally available means you don't get the competitive pricing and special offers you get with other products.
