Hesteflex

  • Glucosamine HCl 99%
  • Chondroitin Sulphate
  • Boswellia Serrata
  • MSM
  • Vitamin C
  • Natural Vitamin E
Nothing wrong with it but I'm not convinced there is anything new or unique with those ingredients given how expensive it is and the hassle of having to go via a vet.
Yeah, there is that, he is happy as he is now just on glucosamine, not sure the extra money would achieve anything ?

If you're registered with BD, BS or BE (as they check your email address when ordering) you can also get a free 3-tube sample of Kurasyn PB which has high-grade boswelia and turmeric

Postage is also free.

Thie of you have used the samples - are 2 sachets enough to see a difference?
Some fellow liveries also got samples for me when they were offering them free. So I did about a week and really saw a difference

If anyone is getting it from a non vet source please let me know where from. I get my drugs from e-vet who aren't allowed to sell it

I really rate it and used for a couple of years. But being a cheapskate, bought top grade Tumeric and boswellia and gave that instead. Bozmerix is far more effective!

This is interesting - I'm currently nosing around to find out exactly that! Mine is on boswellia already but vet has recommended Bozmerix, so I'm wondering whether it's worth switching.

It's worth a try. I've been buying from the link posted above and I do think it helps. Pony won't go near turmeric in her feed but she'll eat bozmerix even though I hate the smell

If you are using it, my last lot from the vet was in a big 1.5kg packet and worked out far cheaper than the individual sachets of which there are only 60 per box.

I am back on the Boswellia/Turmeric Extra (both Omega products) mix and horse is going better than ever. As a huge Bosmerix fan, I am pleasantly surprised.

I actually ran the numbers through Excel and a box of 60 costs £85, while 1.5kg costs £205. The cost per day only works out at 5p different. That's not through the vet though, I assume vet prices are higher.

Interesting that boswellia + turmeric seems to get equally good results for you. I might just stick with my current boswellia and add turmeric in....turmeric is so cheap I may as well throw it back in.

I did the same calc. a few nights ago and came up with the same answer. I thought a larger quantity would be cheaper.

I bit the bullet and put my TB on this around September time. We haven't done a great deal due to working full time, a toddler and the rubbish weather but I have definitely noticed a positive difference both in the field and ridden. I went with the 1.5kg bag as the first one was with a voucher from hestevard and then the second time my vets was doing a black friday deal of 20% off all supplements. It is expensive, but whilst it's helping I'll begrudgingly pay it lol.

I was talking to my vet about this earlier this week. She's not one to recommend spending £££s on unproven supplements, but she says that a number of her clients have had excellent results with it. A couple of them stopped using it on cost grounds, but ended up putting their horses back on it as the horses got stiffer again.

It can be used in conjunction with bute/danilon.

I haven't yet used it on my horse, but have filed it away for possible use in the future.

Can I ask how long your trial with it was please? Excuse the 2-year-late reply!!🤣

So long ago that I can’t actually remember 😂. My vet gave me a box, so maybe a month??

Funnily enough, I’ve only this week thrown out the box that was languishing in the bottom of my feed bin. I didn’t think it had been here that long! 😂

Lol, thanks for your reply!! I’ve just ordered a free sample from the website but it’s only 2 sachets🤣!

That’ll be for taste. The sachets are quite big, so if you have a fussy horse it might not suit.

It was very new when I had it so I think vets were given free boxes to pass on as a marketing thing. I do think it’s a shame its only sold through vets when it isn’t a veterinary medicine. I’m sure the cost could be a lot lower if it was sold through normal channels

I did the trial nearly 3 months ago - it was 20 sachets, 10 days supply, free through my vet. He had recommended it as worth a go, with Cartrophen being discussed as the next possible step. On day 6 he was noticeably, categorically freer and more supple, so I ordrered another box of 60. We are now on the 2nd box.

The price is eye-watering, but I daren't stop and try a pure Boswellia and Tumeric. There is other stuff in the Bosmerix -ASU and HLA I think. Before the Bosmerix he had been on Buteless Extra Strength, which had helped but not as much.

I found it really helpful with my then 22 year old- as did another person on my yard with a horse of the same age, so I would reccomend it. My vet told me he had had success using it with racehorses.

My trial packets arrived today beautifully packed ?
How did you get it? I emailed them and they replied that yes they did a trial pack and that it should be long enough to notice a difference if there was going to be one.
I replied asking how to get it and they never responded!
Currently trying 4Cyte and cartrophen injections but interested for future use.

Nb- they do a bigger trial than the two sachets, I think they said 20.
That’s why I emailed back to ask how I go about getting it. I see you can bug the two scachet tester online but can’t work out how to get the actual trial.

We are using Omega Flexology, it’s got similar things in it:
Boswellia
MSM
Glucosamine
HA
And linseed for a shine!

So far it seems to be helping our 13yr old who’s a bit stiff in the hocks:
