Having perused various equestrian websites and got nowhere - can anyone help me find a pair of plain navy blue breeches with a full brushed (fake) leather seat, in a size 10 or 12? Bonus points if high waisted.

Nearly everything I've found has a synthetic grip seat, and I actually much prefer riding in leather seat breeches. Call me old-fashioned on that front...

These will be my new navy 'competition' breeches, so need to be smart and plain. (Not so old fashioned, because I'm ready to embrace the dark colour rules!)

Help?!

Have you looked at Pikeur? Look for "mccrown" because that's their non silicone grip seat. Pikeur Lugana and Lucinda come in darker colors. I own both in navy, so I know that did or does exist. The Lucinda has a lower rise and the Lugana a higher rise. Candela is an even higher rise and comes in a few different colors too. All 3 of those are generally smart and plain, but the Lucinda has a logo on the leg.

I'm a big fan of Pikeur because they last and are comfortable to me...and can be found with no silicone.

Yeah I think it is a lugana that I have in beige - and that seat is good. Trouble is that they are £££££!!

Depends on your definition of £££££, I guess 😉 I've found a majority of mine on sale or at lesser prices by shopping around or buying new with tags on eBay. They're worth it to me regardless due to the fit and longevity I've experienced.

Do you mind second hand?....always worth keeping tabs on ebay, as often some in very good condition on there
I don't mind second hand in theory, its just that I need to buy them in the next few days ready to use for a competition - so they need to be the right size, and not worn looking

look for McCrown on the Pikeurs. I can’t ride in full seat at all. Always knee grip
And luckily don’t mind silicon but very fussy about it.

Kramer would be a good shot

There are lots…. That’s just a few.

Looks like you want to go continental for them.

Always a bit worried about ordering from Europe these days... And those tredsteps - I own a pair, and they have faded pretty badly sadly!

Try Toggi Clydesdale if you can find any. I have a pair in burgundy that sound exactly like that but I think they did blue

They have a full seat in a suede feeling slightly stretchy material.

ETA they come up small.

Kramer are good. Never had an issue and they are big so sorted via customs

Luganas or candelas. Try sheepham saddlery, Nikki moxon equestrian or possibly westleigh saddlery.
Best bet with sheepham or Nikki is message for what they have

Lots of sales on at the moment, Classic Dressage, Dressage Deluxe etc. I only have Pikeur and with a McCrown seat, I'm also old fashioned, cant BEAR silicon. Pikeur are more expensive, but I reckon they work out cheaper as they really do last, and I only ever buy in sales, so never pay full price.

Another vote for pikeur candela. The night blue is a lovely colour and they are super smart. Expensive, yes, but last for years and I’ve found nothing that comes even close to them. Sadly.

I have ordered lots from Kramer and never had an issue, i have a couple of there breeches, including a full seat and they are my go to for fit. The below in navy seem like they are what you want.

I'm not into the silver zip on the side of these - I'm trying to go as absolutely plain navy as I can - no sparkly bits or anything that could trigger angry stewards who are already upset at the new rules.

Fortunately after some late night eBay hunting I *think* I've been successful (subject to them fitting when they turn up) - some BNWT unworn Equetech harmony breeches with a suede seat, which I don't think are even made any more. High waisted, very plain navy. For £30 👍 (I just really resent the idea of spending more then £100 on breeches - as lovely as the Pikeur ones are...)

I’ve a pair of Equetech suede hi waisted which are lovely and were a gift. Right size for me but just don’t find comfortable for some reason I’ve never worked out. They are gorgeous though. Good find

Sorry to jump in on this thread. The breeches sound lovely and I'd love to try a Pikeur if I can find a bargain at some point, but I can never work out their sizing.
Is there a chart somewhere of the UK equivalent, or can anyone give me a rough guide for sizes 6-10 please? Do they tend to be accurately sized?

RF please would you post a picture of you competing in your navy jodhpurs if they turn up in time? I'd love to change to navy too so it would be great to see what it looks like.
