Yesterday, i had some news, quite unexpected news - that i could be as much as 3 months pregnant myself!!!
now i was going to breed from 2 of my mares, i now need to make a decision and quickly!
has anyone on here been pregnant whilst breeding - how did you cope?
my train of thought at the moment is go for it still as i am not going to be able to ride, and they arent going to be able to do too much anyway, i will have baby before them, and when theirs are due i can still be there etc.... they both lived out last winter - just came in the odd nights so its not too much mucking out - but i do already have 7 horses to look after... (most retired)
my parents think i am mad, other half says he will support me all he can but make sure i do the right thing!
i also, have a stallion arriving this morning to cover one of the mares! am i mad for this too? hes being turned out in a seperate paddock with her so hope there isnt too much hands on i am going to have to be involved in. i've known the stallion since a yearling and had him turned out at my yard previously so am confident he should be ok.
my plan was to have 2 foals at the same time, so all being well, they will have foal company etc etc. if i'm there waiting for one to foal might as well be waiting for two!
my other
is money! my oh only found out last night how much foals cost to produce ! (and i didnt tell him everything!) again, he says if you have the savings, its up to me, so thats ok but, babies - they must cost a bit too! i'm going into town today and am going to look at baby stuff so i will have more of an idea of £££ for them as its something i havent really got a clue about!
i think i am still in shock - especially as it could be 3 months!!!
