Ed and I are going to attempt some dressage next weekend and I’m just looking into bridle numbers!

I’ve never been able to get the small discs with the elastic ties on each side to stay on and now we need two numbers it’s double the difficulty! 🙈

Does anyone have any recommendations?

I always preferred the disc ones without elastic but only used them on one side now I have to have to have them on both sides I have the ones on my numnah.

yeah I've gone for ones on the saddle pad now we need two as well.

My equidisc ones broke eventually, then I had a hamag which has been OK. I've just got some cheapy ones off ebay which velcro on the saddle pad now and it's so much nice than having them on the bridle.

I have a tendency of forgetting to bring a bridle number so I now have a collection of panic buys, my aim now is to always have an emergency set. My personal preference is for the hamag ones, then the equidisc and then the cheap elastic tie ones as a last resort. Saying that I do think the saddle pad ones can look smarter and less busy especially if your horse has a dainty head. For the price of two hamag bridle numbers you could get a pad with integrated numbers.

Thanks for the suggestions 😀

I think I will go for saddlepad ones as it feels a bit overkill to have two on the bridle as Ed has quite a small head!

Also I imagine it will be much easier to put them on as I won’t be attempting to put them on the bridle while he’s excited and fidgeting!

i bought a pair on ebay - like the round limeux but half the price (since you got 2 not 1 at a time!) - they have a popper with leather loop and a safety pin so can be used on the bridle or saddlecloth. ive used on the bridle so far and so good.

I use the elastic tie ones for emergency use now - especially as the dog chewed one :P
