Bridles - why are they so boring?

I would kill for LOTR tack! Especially Asfaloths.

Or the Rohirrim :D

I think I could use this is persuade the OH to take up riding  mwhaha

If I ever have a QH, arab or iberian I am going to end up broke buying bridles :o:p

I like the vaquero style headstalls, I'd ditch the nosebands but I like that the fringe actually serves a purpose as well.

We have a zilco endurance bridle that we use for picnic hacks and the like, as it is easy to unclip the bit to allow Rolo to graze. And I think the red suits him. We do wear plain black hunter style for most things...

Missed this earlier.... Your horse is lush!!! That red really sets him/her off!

I looove the LOTR tack, robin hood with russel crowe in also has some lovely tack on the horses.

Personally I do love a flat hunter bridle for hunting, showing but also love abit of sparkle!!

I love padded comfort bridles with blingy drop browbands :o after one of these for my 'so-nota-dressage-horse-but-we-don't-care' coblet :p

He already has two beaded browbands which look lush but want something even more ahem... over the top?! :D

Not a real fan of the coloured bridles but I think just because they are abit 'stringy' to sit nicely on my boys head...

also those baroque bridles / parade bridles are quite interesting :)

This would be pretty cool (though not in green for Fergles!)

I like traditional, big fan of tan!

I would however like one of the biothane type ones in navy blue just for hacking, bit of fun and at least it would match her saddlecloth if nothing else :-)

Will explore the links given!

Yikes, have you seen the shanks on those bits?

I have to say, they are really pretty bits though. Makes my Pelham look dull as a a doorknob.

I'd be riding off the snaffe rein

Some shanks don't even have a space you can fit a snaffle rein onto.

I bought this lovely portuguese bit...

and you can only JUST about get a snaffle rein on.

I have ridden just off the shanks and honestly, you only need the s l i g h t e s t little touch. Not even a touch really and you have the horse between your hand and leg.

I often think it looks harsh how the portuguese ride but watch this.....

Yes Brontie, that is smart and actually makes him look very noble and beautiful! I particularly love his eyes.
