I'm very pleased with my recent acquisition - the infamous pregnant gelding from my naughty spoof thread a while ago.
He was retired last year, and I took him on as a companion for Alf. He's forever cavorting round the field causing trouble, so I decided to see if he fancied coming back into work. Dragged him in from the field today, tacked him up and threw my crash test dummy aboard - and bless him, he was absolutely angelic, and thoroughly enjoyed his little hack round the farm.
I've been caught out by old horses having major tantrums about coming back into work, so we walked him round tacked up a bit first, and I led them for the first 5 mins, but he didn't put a foot wrong.
He has been a dressage horse in his dim and distant past, and obviously hasn't forgotten that he was once quite posh. I think he has a fan -crash test dummy is planning to make this a regular thing.

Do you know his breeding at all?

Unfortunately not - he doesn't have his original passport, and I can't find any info about him through searching on his registered name. I've emailed the breed society in Denmark with his brand number, but they haven't replied. Id love to know more about him, but I think I'll have to accept that its not going to happen!

What's his full name?

Why did he retire? He looks like he's enjoying being out and about!

I'm not entirely sure, but iirc, his previous owner had another, younger horse, and no time to do both, so he was retired. He's perfectly happy being out in the field too, so I don't think he minds being retired. He is one of life's uncomplicated, nice to have around horses - occasionally bogs off like a naughty little riding school pony while you're leading him, but apart from that, he's pretty much perfect1

Wow - I just heard from the breed society in Denmark, and the old man has some nice bloodlines! He's by the elite sire Racot, with Raimundo and Ramiro Z further back. Out of a mare called Decire Lundgard, by Ibsen. Nice to know a bit more about his family tree, if nothing else!
