DD - you're right, a handful/faceful of mane would not be so grand. It will be in a running plait so out of the way
Lol, don't mind short manes. Each to their own

oh, one of these topics where eventers feel they can look down on and slag off showjumpers!!
the difference between show jumping and eventing, is show jumping is prioritised around comfort and skill, whereas eventing is very much 'how tidy can i look?'! *rollseyes*
show jumpers generally don't plait unless we are in FEI competitions, as we feel the horses are able to stretch more naturally, and bascule with their necks over the fences unplaited. Plaiting can be very restrictive.
So no, we are not lazy, just smart.
oh! eventers complaining about 'twisty' show jumping courses makes me cringe!
Lol.
A lovely friendly natter on turnout![]()

Ta for the bit about the bascule. Have told D1 and now she's considering having the mane pulled/cut...
Very smart picture FJ
I have just bought her a black leather five point breastplate - with a couple of patches of sheep on it![]()
Sorry but should I meet you at a show I will be unable to acknowledge you in case some of your shame should rub off....
