So interesting that Horse and Hound pulled the discussion from this forum after the death of Die Callas (ridden by Anna Ross) in the slurry lagoon at Newton Stud. It seems that they have now also pulled the article written by Anna Ross about bullying which has attracted some negative comments but was very relevant... what is going on H&H ??

The Anna Ross piece on trolling and social media may have been pulled online, but it is very much still there in print in the current paper edition of H&H mag.

It's on page 14.

*coughs* quite a contentious choice of author for an article on such a topic ?.

I wonder if there will be a few unsold copies this week.

It seems anything discussed on H&H in the Facebook page that gets uncomfortable or raises serious ethical questions regarding the facts ( death of the horse that drowned in a slurry pit containing abattoir slurry that was up.until recently used to fertilise grazing land) or the suitability of authors who should possibly reflect on their own actions before writing articles get pulled.

I myself sold a premium graded home bred brood mare from Germany which was placed at Newton Stud - 100% healthy and fit, which after grazing there for a couple of months developed severe neurological symptoms resulting in euthanasia. Having done my research, my mare seems certainly not to have been an isolated case.

Unable to accept the reality "pot - kettle - black" H&H?

Pammy Hutton had two posts which boiled down to unpleasant conduct from AR/NS and I have seen quite a lot of other posts about bullying etc. On a corporate level why does H&H support this?

We've all been warned by admin not to mention the name of that place or to discuss it again, so best keep it out of this thread.

Otherwise the main thread, which is still up but is locked against further replies, will get pulled. Then it would not be able to be found on a Google search.
Gosh ... warned by Admin not to mention Newton Stud or Elite Dressage or Anna Ross ??? or to discuss it again??? ?

Do I understand correctly that Horse and Hound shut down a discussion because it concerned a business connected with one of their writers?

The thread was shut after posts which were speculation and probable libel were removed.

They have allowed the provable facts, which are bad enough, to remain.

It would seem that is the case. A month ago there was a popular discussion on here about what had happened to a mare who drowned in a slurry pit at a stud connected to a writer and similar today re something else.

If that was the reason why not leave the thread live. As I recall (not very well) only 1 or 2 comments were removed out of hundreds.

Ahh.

It is interesting though, because I am wondering do they do the same for other businesses which are not connected with one of their writers?

Yes they do, otherwise they would risk being sued. They regularly remove threads that are getting involved in legal situations. The last one I recall was about the theft and recovery of a pony, a couple of weeks back. There was one removed a couple of days ago but I can't remember what that one was about.

Because it removed the risk of additional posts in the same vein as the ones that got it pulled in the first place, given that we are a largely unmoderated forum.

Please don't get it pulled.

Not sure that is valid legally. It is like suggesting FB would be sued for the posts of its members.
