Alice Casburn the same. There were some awful rounds of both xc and sj. A couple of the riders should be ashamed of themselves.

Daughter and I watched it and could only imagine nerves got to her, she surely doesn't always ride like that.

She looked very tense when she came in to the ring.

Knowing that you are riding a lame horse round a 5* SJ course would make anyone tense.

The lameness was there for all to see at both this morning's trot ups.

Just remember all horses sent to the holding box are examined by a vet who will then tell the riders their thoughts. I’m sure all horses sent to the holding box and then represented and passed were done on vet advice

She may well have been tense but she kicked him up the guts and jabbed him repeatedly in the mouth all the way round in the sj. Didn't see the trot up, so can't comment on soundness.

The hold vet was Andy Bathe. He works at Rossdales. Which, I believe, is the practice Bubby uses.

Advice that can be ignored, and subsequently trotted up in a way to show off in a certain way.

That horse hasn't had a sj down since March of this year.

So thrilled for Piggy. She clearly thinks the world of her horse (as she should!) and how great is it to see a 17 year old mare win in such style.

I just caught up via iplayer and they didn’t show the trot ups but that round from Bubby Upton was uncomfortable to watch, 4 fences down for what is normally a reliable show jumper so I’m not surprised it wasn’t looking sound.

Top finishing riders all put in good performances, Tom Jackson rode a brilliant XC round.

GB have had a fantastic year, both Burghley and Badminton had GBR riders in at least the top 2 places. Shame about Kentucky but have a soft spot for Jung's riding so not too upset.

Loved Alice Casburn's riding and her interviews were a delight! So pleased for Tom Jackson to gain second place, I've watched his career all the way from his Pony Club days when he competed for a neighbouring branch and kept beating my daughter in the Dengie dressage!
