TableDancer: While never having been a fan of AN, as I don't like his aggressive riding style, I lost any admiration I had for him with his disgraceful display with Lord Killinghurst in Hong Kong. Kerilli's comments echo mine.

Been out and about - just checked scores. Delighted to see Marie Ryan up there, would love to see her do well. Also well done to Mary on that horse, could hardly be described as a dressage horse

Bodes well for Imperial Cavalier tomorrow

here i am just in too look. why are we all so surprised about apache sauce? this is hardly his first 4*. and as for balincoola, he is usually there abouts so no surprise there either. oli has a point to prove, i think on flint curtis but its the friday lot i want to see.
and has anyone pointed out that Miners Frolic did the guinea pig test.... i thought Tina ws out of young riders now......

I expect because all the YRs are training like mad for Keruth and plus Tina has just won a medal! - Why not? - bet she set a V high standard!

Yeh I would love to know Tina's score. Shes doing the BBC stuff so should tell us then. (As a side comment, most Hong Kong horses have come back looking like it was just a normal one day... Brit is on the waitlist for World Cup and Daisy was tempted to take Spring Along to here!)

r.e AN: he was riding like a man possessed and undoubtedly it was jockey error, but this was the olympics and andrew felt he has a real chance of gold (and would have nearly been inside the time.) Had a few of the Brits ridden with a bit more purpose at the end, like he was trying to, we could have been closer to the silver.

Apache Sauce's dressage seems to be improving slowly. Mary cracked her flying changes finally?? Nice to see Clea Phillips up there. Fox Pitt will be pleased 'cos that horses dressage has turned a corner again. Also looking forward to seeing Woodburn go xc... Philip Dutton says its potentially his best ever horse.

I think we will see some higher scores tomorrow?? very few in the 40s. At Badminton this spring by the end there must have been virtually thirty in the 40s.

Just spoke to Matt, he says Marie is really disappointed with her score - shows what I know

Still, I would have thought all to play for, it seems unlikely to be a dressage competition...

hmm, if Sharon hadn't had her run out it would have helped a lot, she made the same mistake AN did, i think (trying to get a tired horse to open out). I don't think any of the others could have gone any faster towards the end, certainly Mary said she went as fast as felt safe. From what i've heard everything kept coming very fast, constant changes of direction, a jumping effort every 10-15 secs iirc. they'd have had to go faster from the start, and take the huge risk of not having enough petrol in the tank at the end...

Very pleased to see Clea right up there, I love that horse and she's such a classy jockey.

You took the words right out of my mouth K. He is such a smart horse; I'd love to have one like that looking over its stable door at me!

Have a look at the trot-up vid; I always think how odd the horses look when they're lean, fit and haven't got riders on. Is Imperial Cavalier really really big, as he makes Mary look tiny?
