Am I right in thinking that these meds *bute in particular* should be added to feeds when being fed?? and not left in feed overnight ie Breakfast...or have I just made the whole thing up
Eeek! I didn't know that was a rule and I used to make feeds up in advance if I knew I wasn't coming up to the yard. No one said anything though and they are professionals?
Yeh thats what I would normally do but Hubbys doing morning feeds and I'd rather chuck it in to know its done..but somewhere in my mind I think you shouldnt leave it in overnight but might have made that part up

I would just leave the sachet in there and instruct hubby to empty in and mix in well before serving ;o)... If my dad can follow that instruction I'm sure your hubby can...
I make up my feeds in advance as some days I have livery. What I do is put the sachet on top of the feed and the person looking after mine then puts it in for me, as per my livery instructions.
That way I know they have the meds and there is no chance of my other horse being given the medicated feed in error. I also do the same when I have fed bute in the past.
