My pony excelled himself.
Arrived and MKEC had arranged it that we'd use the main outdoor arena for the dressage and the indoor arena for the sjing.
We had the mini outdoor to warm up in which worked well.
I was parked nice and central, bang in the middle, perfect.
Snoop warmed up nicely (9th) to go and popped over a couple of fences before continuing to warm up for his dressage.
He went in and produced a lovely test, although i thought the judge wasnt watching the final halt
Immediately you go into the indoor arena and you had two warm up fences before you jumped your round.
The fences were very close together but he popped the practise fences well and went on to start his round.
He jumped round really well, the course was a goo 1.05 throughout, with 3 related distances of 5, 4 and 3 strides, plus a very LONG one strided double.
He jumped beautifully round the first 5 fences, although rolled fence 4 which was unlucky.
Coming up to the final double/related distance (treble) he popped in nicely but just didnt have enough to get through on one so popped in 2 lowering the 2nd part of the double but kicked on to make the 3 and jumped the last huge!
Came out and quickly stripped the tack off and ran him up, he was abit reluctant to run, which is very unlike him but with a bit of encouragement he ran up nicely.
Back to the lorry he peed for England
poor love was desperate!
Went and checked on our scores we had 28 (out of 30) in the dressage
25 (out of 40) sjing
and 11 (out of 15) confirmation
We were 9th to go, and finished out of 40 horses a creditable 15th. We actually were 4th after the dressage alone with Michael Jackson, Angela Tucker and Tiny Clapham being the only combinations to get 29.
I was disappointed with our SJing mark as i felt he really tried for me, but it wasnt supposed to be. Virtually EVERYONE in the top 10 were Pros but i am pleased to say Snoopals managed to hold his own
