Pleeeeease don't keep us in suspense, I'm sure I'm not the only one who is hoping for a write up of your and Vito's latest outing? I did see a mention on Facebook but nowhere near enough detail - you're my inspiration that one day I might manage to progress beyond BE90/100 despite the draining London day job and drastic improvements needed to my riding / braveness if I can just muster, as the saying goes, "the courage to change the things I can, the serenity to accept the things I can't, and the wisdom to know the difference"

Hope all is well....

Having read the Twitter eventing note I am sure she will report in her own time, but perhaps not quite ready to be witty about it yet.

So I fell off on my head and then some bespectacled chap came up to me and said sternly "I'm a doctor". And I looked him up and down a bit and thought that sounded like a seriously bad line, so I pppfffd a bit and then I said "Uh huh? A doctor? Well, dude, I'm a lawyer, stick that in your stethoscope and smoke it".

Then some other (unbespectacled) chap came up to me and said "I'm a vet". And I looked him up and down a bit too and decided that he had a cute Irish accent, so I said "Ooooh. Well look, I'm parked just over there, would you like to come back with me and, you know, you can keep talking on the way, if you like."

Then my husband applied for a part-time job with the Samaritans, on the basis that at least there he could counsel people who were less mentally unstable than I was.

Glad the sense of humour, quick wit and ability to make me splutter with laughter have survived intact- how is the rest of you, and how is Vito?

Oh no, hope you are both OK.

I only fell once, at Weston, and the horse fell on me, and there was a scramble of hooves during which my head was like a punch bag. I was OK ish as the helmet and BP did their jobs, but we were down long enough that the Dr arrived.

The horse made it up and legged it, followed by me, followed by the Dr who was screaming at me to lie down! I felt OK, but not well enough to continue (I believe the Dr had banned me anyway), it was later that day I started to talk rubbish. Well, more rubbish that usual anyway.

Funnily enough it was the vet who gave me a lift back to the stables that day. ;-)

Hope you can fill us in on what happened. You are an inspiration to so many.

Both ok, thanks!

Red-1, that sounds scary (but with an amusing aftermath). And definitely not an inspiration - unless so that, during a bad day, people can comfort themselves by thinking "Well, it could be worse. I could be like her! Falling off on one's head whilst sporting a leaking left boob in between getting done for a variety of generic motoring offences. Tsk."

I wish you could see yourself as others see you. Busy life, juggling many responsibilities, courageous, funny, doing what you aspire to, and able to laugh at the problems you have before dusting yourself off and going again. That is an inspiration in my book.

Glad you are both OK, God bless protective helmets!

Glad you're ok, and you definitely ARE an inspiration - I for one am in awe of all your efforts, I have no children and no husband and I still struggle to be even half decent at a much lower level! At least you didn't fall in the water (although if it was actually wine then maybe that would have been acceptable)

What she said! Glad you are ok.

This, times a million. With a bit of luck the bang to the head will have only eroded your knowledge of contract law, tort and the law of property act 1925 but everything useful like how to ride corners and deal with mud fever will still be there!

Ouch. Hope you are both back out there soon.

And Suziq77 - I think you have to do a report of your rather wonderful day today!

Sorry to hear the day didn't pan out as planned. You are an inspiration to many, eventing at any level is a tough gig, and you are reaching the top end of the sport, juggling a career, babies and a husband. I always enjoy reading your reports, the humour you approach the days events with always leaves me with the giggles. Today was just another bump in the unfortunately corrugated road to our dreams, the next event is in front of you and Vito, and I'm sure you'll continue to chase with all the gusto, courage and humour you have. Keep us posted please!
