I am thinking of purchasing a myler for my horse as I have read many good things about them.
Firstly it would need to be BD legal.
I have ridden him in a happy mouth loose ring straight bar snaffle for a number of years as unfortunately he was in the wrong hands before I got him and had been 'strapped down' therefore he has had trouble to accept the contact and work into it, he prefers to suck back and sit behind the vertical without actually working over his back. I felt he was happier in the straight bar until I tried a sweet iron eggbut snaffle at the beginning of last year.
I'd spent so long sending him long and low in the straight bar that he was much stronger and now happier to work softly and be ridden 'up' a little more.
He is however resistant and not at all easy, he argues until he decides that you are allowed to win! He loves to work but he also loves to have the argument first!!
So I'm wondering whether a Myler might be worth a try?
I've had a look on the website but there seem to be so many different ones to choose from that I'm a little lost, and as they aren't particularly cheap I don't really want to find myself with a collection of them!!
