Ok, i have searched on here for post regarding them but am still none the wiser lol.
Basically pony seems to be living on his nerves at the moment..doesnt bat an eyelid at low flying jets or flocks of geese taking off in next field!!
But he works like a star one day yet the next will be trotting along and suddenly tail goes down, he almost sits down and shoots forward and bolts off and when stops he stands there showing whites of his eyes and looks really worried.
Know very little about his past except he was suposed to be sent away for breaking to drive so wonder if maybe he's had a scare and every now and then he remembers something but its making him very unpredictable to ride.
He is 5 in may, and ridden in loose ring snaffle with lozenge, correctly fitted running mart, caveson noseband, he had 2 wolf teeth removed a couple months ago, and has had all the normal checks in case its pain related but it isnt...its something in his memory that triggers it.

Hope someone can give me some advice to what would be the best ones to try.

You may of already seen this but if not it may be of some help, certainly good reading.

What about camomile? I think I heard that was supposed to chill them out - it's used in the Mollichaff Calmer feed that I once used...?
Also I think B vitamins are for the nervous system so these might help too?

My horse is very nutty as well, he's been on moly chaff calmer and equilibriam mix which promotes better behaviour and he's on global herbs super calm, he's about as calm as i think he'l ever be, as he is a part bred anglo arab, and just naturally mad!

In regards to herbs, try valerian if your horse is very nutty

Although it is prohibited when competing.

I use NAF Five Star Magic for Ali

I hve tried the Global Herbs supercalm, quite literally! It reminded us of curry powder so I tried some and it didn't seem to taste of anything! lol My boy is very stressy in the stable and it has taken the edge off that. He still weaves and box walks but not going mental like he was at times. Valerian does work but it takes a bit of time and as people have said you can't compete on it.

Do you talk to him when you ride him? I find my boy is more settled when I blabber onto him abou all sorts of rubbish. I probably sound bonkers telling him about what I have done at work that day etc but t seems to help him stay settled. And i also think it helps me keep relaxed.
