I fell of twice on Saturday.

I haven’t fallen off for about 3 years...and they were the typical smash your shoulder into the ground when your horse decides there is a monster under/behind the xc jump...I have only ever come off once out hunting…until now!!…oh my god it hurts so much more than when I was a kid. I am moving like a robot!

The first was going through a thick woodland – I think I looked up at the wrong time, got smacked by a branch and generally got caught in a tree, Ryan panicked (who’d have thought ha ha panick is his middle name), shot off a 200 mph I flew off the back and landed on my back. Really hurt my head and neck as gave it a good old whack.

Got back on horse, had a drink and carried on and about 3 minutes later…

Just as we came out the wood there was a really skinny ditch – about 1 foot wide and about 3 feet deep and really overgrown. Had to walk up to it and pop it…just as I thought I’m not sure he’s seen this in his front leg went and down we both went. Luckily he scrambled to the left when he got up off his knees but too late for me as I plopped off to the right.

I literally had no stuffing left in me so laid on my back trying to get some air back in my lungs.

Glad that we had done all the jumping by then as they say it comes in threes!!!

At some point I must have got kicked as I have a black hoofy type bruise on my thigh!

Three times in an hour is pretty good.

I was amazed that I could mount from the ground - that must have been my tiny bit of pride and concussion kicking in!!

I came off 3 times once on a xc course over the first 3 fences! Lol. It was the first xc after the foot and mouth and pony (he's a neurotic type anyway) was just going at 100mph but then stopping and ducking out of the fences and off I'd come. This went until fence 4 and then some helpful woman walking the course decided in her wisdom to tell me that "maybe if I slowed down i wouldn't have the problem!" Amazing, thanks for that I hadn't thought of that one. Thing is, that's all very well and good but when said pony would launch and plunge coming up to the fence and b*ggering off towards it it is a little hard to do!

I asked the fence judge if i could continue round the course but not jump and that settled him down and I managed to (much more calmly) jump the 2nd half of the course no problems. He's just one of those who's brain just can't cope sometimes!

i've been a disaster recently..managed to dislocate a finger, recovered from that, got back riding, then fell off and broke my arm!

The worst part is im in a new yard and im sure the owner thinks i must be a walking accident! its funny thought cause im riding 30 odd years and never had an injury from a fall. i always just bounced up! not any more ;(

Ouch! Nice work!

I fell off 3 times within 15 mins once... at the same xc fence... in the same spot (the stingers!). Not my finest hour! :o

Yup - Fell off 5 times in space of well prob about 10 mins.
Not even doing anything fun, pootling round field minding own business said pony just decided to bronc with no warning so off I come.
Get up dustself off - back on - buck straight back off after attempt number 5 of trying to place bum in saddle and somehow being launched into post and rail fence decided enough was enough and I actually wanted to live so little sod got away with it that day.
Was strangely well behaved after that tho so something had upset it - did have to invest in a new hat too as it literally crumpled when I took it off.
Many moons ago this happened and I still remember it well, amazing how you bounce as a kid, if it happened now I'd of called quits after the 2nd one!

I had my old horse 21 years and fell off her 3 times......all on the same day whilst doing a hunter trial. Each time I landed on my feet and after the third time I gave up!!. She was having a bad day as usually flew round xc courses.

Glad I'm not the only one.

I honestly feel like I have been in a car crash...horse mocked me by cantering off in the field this morning! GIT

Ouch, that sounds painful!

I've fallen off three times one after the other at a little jump my riding instructor put up. For some reason Ettie took a dislike to it...you would have thought by the third time I would have learned to hang on!

A slightly different from your original question but, once I came off over the last fence on a jump off and managed to hang around her neck (not intentionally) until after the finish line. It still counted as a clear and we came 2nd.

think ive come off twice in three mins.. first time riding my youngster in a field.. brocing- didnt realise until afterwards your meant to push them through it not stop! what a wally. bloody hurt too, I kept getting back on and dismounted of my own accord in the end :D

Twice in 10 minutes, once in the ring and then after my mum making me get back on and jump some more in the collecting ring to keep my confidence up the little swine threw me off again  She was a bugger for putting nasty stops in though

We call that the "doomed weekend" though, I did that on the saturday, my nan had to be taken to hospital on the saturday night and my mum fell over and buggered her knee/ankle on the sunday morning, really not a good weekend overall  :D

I did 3 times in 2 minutes during a dressage test once!! Got bucked off (think fly bucks then bronching across the arena not just a small buck), got back on, bucked off a further 2 times and then tried to get the judge off when she had a go (it was a very low level comp)... managed to finish the test and not come last haha.

I managed to fall off within about 2 minutes of getting on? :) Not twice admittedly but quite a feat in my books..was a fresh little polo pony who i didn't get on particularly well with anyway, leant forwards to check my girth, she did a handstand and I found myself on the floor :o
I have also managed the 3 falls at a HT over probably first five fences.
