Can anyone help me find a horse please?

The power of HHO seem to be very good at finding horses and I just don't know where else to look! It feels there is very limited out there within my budget and if there is, it is either gone straight away or I don't get any response from the seller!

This is my ideal criteria:

- 14hh-15.2hh (chunky 13.3hh would be considered too).
- Can live with mares.
- Can hack alone and in company sensibly.
- No unexpected sharpness, rearing, bucking or bolting.
- Good with farm animals.
- Loan with view to buy but will consider straight out purchase up to £4k too.
- Maximum age 11.
- Within 50 miles of Hampshire.
- Can live out 24/7.

Not fussed on breed, colour, being able to school or not, little spooks/looky, mild napping. As long as it's not slamming on the brakes and spinning at things like my mare did and is relatively easy to control! I just want something healthy and happy to hack on the forest to have fun with.

I know I don't have a ridiculous budget and is under the current amounts on the market for the type of horse everyone wants but there must be something!

Any suggestions welcome!

Thank you. :)

Most of your criteria won't appear on any website.

As for narrowing your search down to a 50 mile radius I think you will be incredibly lucky to find what you are wanting within your search area. We are going over 100 miles on Sunday to look at one which will take us over 2 hours to get there. The one I was interested in but after a lot of soul searching decided I was compromising on too much, was 3.5 hours away.

I've never gone more than 30 miles away previously but the market is so expensive and they are getting snapped up so quickly its a total nightmare.

Yes, sadly seems this way so I am looking a bit further out for the right one. The polo pony above that I enquired about is about a 2 hour trip too but as he seems ideal, it would be worth it. Closer the better but not a complete must.

Good luck with your viewing on Sunday!

not sure if this has worked, 6 yr old for loan, may be worth finding out why he is being returned, looks like a nice type, suitable for hacking or endurance only

i like the look of him, 13.2 but only 4 so could grow a bit, unregistered fell

The fell is stunning but a rearer and already in a pelham which puts me off!

The other one might be okay, I'll send a message. Thank you!

i put him as they bought him for a riding school and if in a pelham and heavy handed beginners im not surprised he may have gone up a couple of times...sometimes what they put in the ad doesnt show the full picture. there have been a couple but in west midlands so a couple of hours journey i assume...may be worth waiting till nearer the winter when prices might be lower
