Can anyone help???????????????????????

ok thanks for all the advice it's such a shame that everyone thinks that he isn't worth what i'm asking just because i chose not to compete. So basically i could sell him for 5000 to someone who could then take him out to a couple of aff shows and then sell him for 7000!!!!!!!!!!!! I always new the horse world was mad.

I would want him affiliated and jumping DCs for £7k, but I am very particular about what I want! He would have to be super to handle and very good to hack alone and in company too and if he hunted, all the better. Sorry, I am not trying to offend you but that is what I am personally looking for.

Yes but you must appreciate the irony here ... you are selling him as a competition horse at a 'competition price' but he hasn't really got a competition record - therefore there is no proof that he will go out and produce the goods. People will take a chance on him for £5K but not at £7K - sorry!

Just wanted to ask a quick question about the flatwork pic in your ad - is he being worked in draw reins? I can't view the photo any bigger and I may be completely wrong - but if he is I would lose that photo. If I were looking that would put me off completely. But as I say - apologies if I have got that wrong.

he is amazing to handle very well behaved. before having my baby i worked with horses so can't bear bad manners. i'm sure you aren't trying to offend i'm just frustrated when the people i worked for were spending 10,000 a time for horses with no proven record at all and really bad stable manners etc and i can't sell my boy who is an absolute diamond!!! just very fed up it's not like i even want to sell him i just have no other option

could you try sending/selling him to the people you used to work for if this is the case?

You can reply to each user, if you look in top right hand corner you can see i was replying to shilasdair! She fills up her pm's by herself, so it looks like she has loads of friends when you try to reply

Don't worry, she meant me. You can receive private messages (PMs) from others, but the system will only let you have 200 and then you can't receive any more.

Just to clarify, i sold my pre novice eventer, (one in siggy) safe allrounder well placed dressage, placed pre novice always tops dressage for £6k. He was 9yo bombproof with proven comp record and 16.2hh, my phone was red hot. In comparrison, you horse has done very little, and your word alone is unlikely to sell him, sorry..

Daisychain you could have shrunk him 2" and sold him to me, he is EXACTLY what I am looking for!!!! AND at a fab price!!!!

Id give £4K for just him and £5K for him and his tack.

He may have good bloodlines but they are proved useless as he his not breedable(lol!). Sorry its turned out this way for you, I have a 14month old so glad I dont have the worry of horses!!! (will do in a few years when hes grown up enough to weild a fork and do some mucking out!!) sorry no help!!

Not at all lol! My sister has red hair, when she lived at home with my brother and i we used to call her ginger minge, so i think ginger pussy is much nicer!

Just to clarify what other people are saying, this is what you are marketing your horse against:

http://www.horsedeals.co.uk/SearchResult...amp;PageSize=20

(Search terms used, 16hh-17.1, price £6K to £7K)

Horses which stand out like this one which is the same price as yours but has 51 BD points and been placed BE prenovice, so we know it can do a job:
http://www.horsedeals.co.uk/ItemDetail.aspx?ProductCode=Web-07-29-08-44385

Or this, which is a grand cheaper and has evented at PN and is out jumping at 1.10:
http://www.horsedeals.co.uk/ItemDetail.aspx?ProductCode=Web-07-28-08-44367

Before you decide randomly how much you think your horse is worth, you need to research the market and see what you are pitching it against...

Too many people try to sell on potential, buyers want to see a record to prove the ability of the horse i.e. BSJA record or BD points. You are asking for £7000 & that's quite a lot of money. So your horse will jump 1.40m at home..... a single fence means little, it's how they perform at a show when they need to jump a course that matters. If you want to achieve the money you are wanting you need to build a record of achievement for the horse otherwise you'll need to lower the price.

Actually No they aren't, they'll need to take him to more than 'a couple of shows' that's why you'll need to lower your price.

I've hopefully just sold one via the PC site (they are supposed to pay for her tomorrow), very cheap to advertise and lots of enquiries.
The bottom line though is if you have had no enquiries your price is likely to be too high. Or your ad isn't quite accurate.
If you pm me the ad I will give you an honest opinion (I used to be partner in a horse finding agency so wrote many ads in my time).
If it's a quirky horse selling can be difficult (ours has taken ages) but if not it'll be price or the ad itself..

He does seem a little expensive though I'm only currently looking for Broodmares in England so may not be fully in touch with prices. What I would say though is that the photos in the horse deals ad, especially the ridden ones, are not the best. Good luck selling him!
