Can anyone recommend a good 'pick-me-up' supplement?

I was thinking of Red Cell. I want to give a bit of a boost to a horse that has recently lost weight and is a bit depressed. Otherwise in good health. Teeth done in December by an excellent EDT, worming up-to-date, not in ridden work, well rugged and out 24/7 on good haylage and SB, Alfalfa, Barley Rings, Suregrow, fenugreek & linseed and carrots/parsnips 2 x day. Very glossy coat etc... All ideas welcomed.

Thats alot of feed for a horse to lose weight on, unless only a handful of each. Nettex do a good one, cant remember exactly what its called but i think it might actually be called pick me up!

Another vote for Pink Powder here

Well I'll buck the trend and say Redcell worked for me. My horse had a non specific viral thing a couple of years ago and was a bit wiped out, sort of quiet but nothing you could put your finger on. I started her on Redcell as a pick-me-up and it was fab. She has stayed on it as I know she is getting her vits and minerals (but she hardly has any hard feed).

Hope he picks up soon.

Horse hasn't lost weight ON that feed, that is what horse is on now! Sorry, should have clarified that point in OP.

Will google Nettex - thanks.

Re the Pink Powder. I'm not really a fan tbh. Have fed it in the past and never noticed any difference!

I had a couple of winters where my mare would seem depressed, lethargic, laying down out a lot. After vet ran some tests it turned out she was aenemic.

I put her on Equisup, I got it through the vet so not sure if you can get it anywhere else. The 2nd winter I put her on before the winter set in (it only happened during the winter). It seemed to do the trick, it was a long time ago and I think she was only like it for 2 winters. It's never happened since.

I've used Propell in the past and that has done the trick. Still not sure about PP either, been feeding it a month or so and still not sure if I'll buy another pot.

Second vote for Restore (by Global Herbs) I use this when my horses change grazing as it gives them a boost and also makes wormers more efficient.

Also Vi-Sorbin if you want to increase red blood cell count. I also feed mine ecchinacea year round now.

I have to say having tried loads of different brands the only ones which have been fantastic are Visorbine and Propell...amazing results on more than one horse.

My lad who we have now only needed one 3.8l bottle of prpoell over a year ago and has not lost his condition at all since.
