No one at home understands my excitement but today Lacey did a set of 12 upright weaves on her own for the first time!!

I only really started training it last weekend (been doing v poles until then!) With a set of just 6 at home. She got it within two days which I was over the moon about. I thought I would have to get another set to teach her to do the 12 but no, at training today I asked her to do it and she did so without hesitation! More than once too so it wasn't just luck :biggrin3:

I'm so lucky to have such a willing little dog!!

Wooohooo! :D

I taught mine to weave doing channel weaves and the 12s came not too long after we cracked 6. However we had a little time where we sort of lost the ability weave so I did v poles and they seemed to remind her how to go. Brilliant stuff :D

That is pretty amazing. It took many months for Pickle to grasp the weaves, and he still has his moments (including last night at training) where he messes them up.

That's fab :) It's definitely the hardest obstacle to teach but so satisfying when you get it right.

I've got one lovely weaver, picks up tricky entries, can cross behind etc... and then I've also got Big White Dog, with whom I've got maybe a 50% chance if he's on my right. On my left, he regards weaving poles as alien objects he's never seen before in his life. Both taught exactly the same way!

Thanks all, i'm sure the wheels will fall off at some point but for now I will enjoy it!

We had another short session at home tonight and focused on me being on the wrong side and had quite a high success rate with that too! My trainer has said he wants me to do 90% of weaves now with me on the wrong side just to really cement the correct entrance into her head!

Tonight I was sending her over a jump and then into the weaves and she was driving forward really nicely on her own :biggrin3: I've booked a 1-1 lesson at the weekend so really looking forward to having a good go at weaves in a proper course!

Here's a little vid from last Monday, after only 5 short sessions with uprights -
