Can you give a dog carcass to the hunt?

I'd have rather the carcass went to some use than just rotting in the garden. What does it matter if it's eaten or burnt?

Oh yeah, lets feed some dogs to the hounds - what a revolting idea! Have no issue with my horses going but cannibalism is a step too far IMHO.

Why on earth am I a troll? Just for asking a question?

A question designed to cause annoyance (at best) in either the hunting forum - or here.

A dead dog MIGHT be taken by the hunt - but it will cost you - because it would either go in the offal skip (which has to be removed by a licensed contractor at upwards of £700 per skip) or incinerated at very high heat - and high cost in fuel.

It would NOT be fed to hounds under any circumstances.

It was not designed to cause annoyance, at all. It was a hypothetical question I wanted answered. Simple. This forum is full of complete morons.

Just think of the possibilities though. You could use small dogs as handy bitesize snacks for training purposes, and larger dogs as a main meal. Medium size dogs would be the lite-bite choice for the more portly hound...

FWIW I've seen em eat a terrier but in general...no I wouldnt think it would be the feed of choice! Certainly if it had been euthanised chemically it wouldnt be anywhere near the hounds. They would take it to incinerate (if its a hunt with access to the facility) but it would cost you a small fee.

Actually a very old friend of mine says they once did just that, being very ecomomic with the feeding bills,
she was very involved with the Grove and Rufford Hunt.

You're calling me a moron?.......

It would seem that way. After 240 odd posts, it might have been an idea had you previously gauged the attitude which others have towards their cherished pets. I'm sorry to tell you this, but the responses on this, and the Hunting section, would be entirely predictable, and yes, if others considered you to be a troll, then I'd have a degree of agreement with them.

I always put my own dogs down. Would I consider allowing them to be fed to another animal? Most certainly not, and I don't know of anyone else who would, either.

Alec.

You're calling me a moron? With a crap signature the size of a house?

Nobody said your signature was crap, or the size of a house. Unless your second sentence was supposed to be an insult? In which case, yes, defending your intellect with a "your sig is crap" argument does indeed make you a moron.

Sorry, but if the cap fits and all.... :(
