Hi there,

I have a 15.2hh TBx mare that I would like to have a foal from. I am looking for a small (15hh and under) fairly fine stallion with excellent dressage stats and trainablility. My mare is of unknown breeding and hasnt affiliated yet, so the stud would have to be happy to sell to me. Not fussed about colour. I am in the southeast, don't know if that makes a difference. I would welcome your suggestions and advice.

I'm not sure and forgive me if I have got the wrong stud but I think Groomsbridge have a new boy over from Dubai, he is small a wonderful little horse by all accounts. Sorry if I have got the Stud wrong.

I'm sure someone can correct me.

Yes, Worthily, at TB competing dressage at a good level, a very nice horse so I am informed.
Standing at Groomsbridge stud.

I know someone who has their mare in foal this year to Aimbry Chester http://www.endhousestud.co.uk/stallions/aimbrychester/index.htm
They have met him and said he has a fab temperament.

He certainly does!
I already have a colt foal by A Chester which is also out of a mare with unknown breeding and he is a delight to have; very sweet temperament and moves very well; well, he has so far but at the moment resembles an upside down giraffe being bum high by almost a hand!

He is the third by Chester out of this mare who is graded with SPSS and she has already produced a filly which has two First Premiums at the Futurity and was also Champion mare at the SPSS grading last year so he has a lot to live up to.

My friend has a super little stallion, Rughavens Jackpot. He is only 7 years old and has already won at advanced medium. He has a fantastic trainable temperament. His first foals this year all got premiums at their breed show and BEF.

My mare is in foal to Bernwode Brokat he has just won an award for the leading uk sire of sport ponies at the futurities ,he has a fabulous temrperament and is himelf an accomplished dressage pony.

The pony stallions on the continent are far and above anything we have over here. I will be using them next season on my RP mares, once I have decided

Most of them offer chilled semen. I can pm you some links if you wish.

That seems to be a rather sweeping statement, if you don't mind me saying.
When you look into most of the european ponies' pedigrees the majority have our very own Welsh and/or New Forest bloodlines not too very far back.

I had the stud card for Manitu N from Madeleine Campbell at Hobgoblins stud so am assuming he is standing there - super little horse.
Happy to put up contact details if I am allowed? xx

Will try to post photo. Strengths, - Fab temprement, easily trainable, keen to please, rhythmic straight trot, correct jump. . Active hind, short coupled. Large feet !

Bad points. Short neck, can have ponyish high knee action. Lazy but can be sharp when nervous.

My instructor mentioned Manitu, though she did say he is ridden by very very talented riders ( don't know what she is trying to say here, or what I have been paying her for ! lol) She said to make sure he is easily trainable.

Look at the results of the sires (through their offspring) of Sports Pony stallions at the Futurity Evaluations. www.bef.co.uk and/or the children of the SPSS stallions on www.spss.org.uk There are some exceptional small stallions in the uk now breeding children that are being sought after by Germany and Holland!
