FEI TV are doing a series on special partnerships and today is Carl Hester and Nip Tuck. Thought you might enjoy watching it
If I remember it correctly, Nip Tuck was part of 3 yearlings that he bought and then he sold him to a friend. Only that he accidently gave the wrong yearling to the friend and when she noticed he offered to swap but she said no she was attached to that one now ?. I know Carl likes to train behind the scenes and then take over the ride. I've found an early test of him hereahhit just seemed a shame to call it partnership journey's mention that he got him as a yearling then skip a good few years. But I don't know any of his back story.
I think I'm correct in saying that they paid £4K for Valegro. This pic is taken at Hartpury before the 2012 Olympics, I think but MP may have a better memory. It was such an interesting session as Carl talked the audience through all of the weaknesses and strengths of both horses and the audience was encouraged to make plenty of noise to help accustom Barney to an "atmosphere".Yes I did think that after I'd posted, definitely the BD convention though.I think that might have been the 2015 convention? as Uthopia went to London.
