I have just heard from Bransby Home of Rest for Horses who have been caring for Carrot & Spud since their 'rescue' thanks to the help of members of this forum.

Carrot & Spud have been signed over by the owner to the RSPCA and will remain at Bransby permanently, so their future is secure.

They are having some final tests and then will be going out with the herd to make new friends. The link below has some photos of the two of them - a huge improvement I think you will all agree.

So a huge thank you to all of those involved from here (Talavera, Kerilli, MrT, Bank End Rescue, vetsbestfriend to name but a few who were there on the day), to the BHS - especially Lee Hackett, the RSPCA and local vets Gibson & Lee who made sure they were removed to safety.

The biggest thank you goes of course to Bransby who took them in and have done such a fantastic job!!

Spud is adorable!

What brilliant news and what a lovely ending. I dread to think what would have happened to them in the weather this winter if they hadn't been rescued.

Massive well done to everyone involved, what a fantastic result.

That is such good news. They look so much better

Another pat on the back for everyone involved and thanks for the update Slinky

It is still quite beyond belief that the initial welfare inspection deamed them in no danger.

Thank God they are now safe. Well done to all involved!!!

PS - the photos on the website of Carrot are two different horses. May be good to get that corrected........

Thats brilliant news

The picture must have been rotated or something!!

I have left messages for Andy & Chloe so they can see the result of their work - they are looking forward to going and visiting them!

I noticed the sock aswell... and judging from the markings on carrots face and the fact that the buckle on teh headcolar in teh first photo is the wrong side i think the photo has been turned flipped round... probably just looks neater to have all 4 photos facing the same way!

great transformation tho! x

It is definately Carrot - they are in isolation so are the only horses there - I expect the photo has been rotated. There aren't two horses that look like that!

Does he have three white feet or one???

Lovely to see them both looking much healthier. I'm so pleased that they have a permanent home where they will be looked after properly. No horse or pony deserves the trauma that they have suffered. Well done to all concerned in their rescue.

Looks like just difference in coat with the 2 front legs, just paler coat rather than white markings, but that could be my monitor! ....face markings look different as it is a mirror image of the original photo. Its the right hand side of the horse but appears to be the left.

and quite possibly Spuds stripey NF hoof has lost its stripes in his second picture - I thought hoof markings never change?

[/ QUOTE ]

Both pics are mirror images, see the buckle on the headcollar is missing in the two 'before' pictures. So you are looking at 2 different hooves, not 2 different ponies.
