Well the bin I soak them in I wash out every day and the water is gross so I thought the haynets could do with a freshen up. You should have seen the brown water.

They look nice and clean now.

Thanks for posting.
Before reading this I though my wife was the most OCD person I'd ever met when it came to looking after her baby (ooops, I mean horse). Now I realise I have got off lightly

oh no for me the dishwasher is strictly reserved for dishes and for making flavoured vodkas (skittles, mint aero, and cadbury's cream egg)

I wash numnahs, girths and fleeces in washing machine, not to mention dog's vet bed.

I always wash Oh's clothers next, not mine. He hasn't noticed yet.

Used to work for a cracking pub, they had a coctail and shots bar upstairs, we used to buy cheap vodka, decant about 1/3 - 1/4 of it and then break up chocolate or sweets into it, basically shoose your favourite. Some of ours were:
white chocolate
Cream egg
Galaxy
Caramac
skittles
mint aero
choc orange
mars
caramel (we used the caramel sauce from ice creams that comes in the squeezy bottles for this)

basicaly choose your favourite, although i would stay clear of picnic bars and kit kats!!

put the lid on and put it in the dishwasher, open door and shake a couple of times through cycle and it turns it into a luuurverrly shot!!! we used to charge 2.50 to 3 pounds and they couldn't get enough of it and that was 10 years ago!!!

Perfect for something different at the x-mas party dont you think??

Other ones that have been tried are: chilli vodka (put the chillis in there for a couple of weeks to add the flavour)

and christmas pud vodka: my friends mum decided to try this, she got all the basic ingredients for a x mas pud and put them in with a load of vodka (and I am talking a load) It was in this big cauldron thingy and every time someone walked past they had to stir it. I think this went on for about 5 weeks, she would taste and add more sugar or fruit. At the end of it she decanted the x mas pud vodka and we drank and were very merry. No one quite knew how that one would turn out but it was really nice.

It had never occured to me until now to wash a haynet.

I am guilty of fleeces, numnahs etc in the washing machine, but I put them in an old duvet cover first.

And yes, I did OH's washing first afterwards

I don't use haynets now, but even I can't imagine washing them! I do wash rugs, numnahs, boots etc in the washing machine, but I put them in an old duvet cover too - works a treat!

I have, on one occasion, rinsed a haynet under the tap outside the barn, but would never consider washing one

So, if you have time to wash haynets, and you decide you don't really want to (otherwise your OH is going to have you carted off), you'll have lots of spare time... could always come and do m'house

Bits on stuff on the dishwasher? I thought hubby was doing good not muttering about all the rugs dryingon the bannisters

A friend's hubby won't let any horse stuff at all go into the house

They can't even clean their tack at home
