CC my Pony Please......

As Shils refuses to do short, hairy and chestnut ponies

I wondered if anyone else could give me some CC on Millie. I am really Cr@p when it comes to Conformation so would really like to know if she is 'well put together (or not!)' etc.

out of curiosity why do you have a L clipped into her
okay well in the first picture she has a good neck but not much of a bum.
in the last picture she has a bum but not much of a neck

Hiya, she is very sweet!

She seems to be a nice stamp with nothing obviously wrong confirmation wise; I would say in terms of her muscle that she has quite a long back (which is quite typical for a mare) and doing lunging exercises with her (no gadgets so she can drop her nose to the floor and stretch) will help strengthen and develop her back muscles a little more, which will then help her to support herself... Lunging may also help soften the muscle under her neck, which I guess has developed because she fights against a martingale?

Thanks, The L is suppose to be an L Plate, requested by her Little Jockey for her first time hunting

The first pictures are the most recent, the last picture is from about May time. She 'should' be fitter in the first pictures then the last, in the last picture she had not long been back in after having 6 months off.

She struggles on the road without shoes on the front but she doesn't need them on the back, she is fine without. If she does a lot of hunting this season we may put back shoes on and I have also been told to looks into special back shoes for her that may help her weak hocks. She can be quite a moody mare at times so I do worry about having back shoes on her, will see how she goes though over the winter.

To OP I have my mare only shod at the front cos she is more sensitive on front and not too much on back, also they put more weight on front

That's interesting Thanks, I have just started lunging her more often but I must admit I do tend to use balancing reins on her, will start trying without them and see how she goes, she does tend to go round with her chin on the floor which I guess will help.

Regarding the Martingale we have only used one on her for the last couple of weeks so I don't think the muscle under her neck is due to that.
