I'm still not used to having a good doer, it's quite a novel experience!! Missi's weight seems to be up and down, some days she looks like a beached whale, other times I think she looks fairly good.

She gets a scoop of Hifi Molasses free (spilt between two feeds) a day. She is out in the day time with nearly ad-lib hay until about 3pm and then is in over night with 2 medium sized haynets (not sure on weight sorry).

So what do you think? Is she about right now? Also what do you think of her conformation?

Sorry if the photos are massive, Photobucket is being a nightmare!!

Where did you get your girth? I've never seen one like that, maybe I've had my head up my ass or something......oh and naglett looks fab.

Mine came from America a few years ago (cost £13!) so no help to you I'm afraid.

Here's a couple of similar ones though -

(Shop around though as have seen the shires one for £20, just can't link to it!)

Her weight looks spot on to me. Maybe knock off some of the daytime hay though, so you go into Summer with a bit in hand. Tough time of year with a good do er. CC - lots to like. Nice depth of girth, compact and presents an overall pleasing picture. Not mad on her hind leg but if she stays sound, it doesn't matter. She looks a shade upright in her shoulder in a couple of the photos but I'm being picky now! Her neck looks really powerful and strong too. Not surprised she's nappy - she looks quite wilful! Great markings as well.

Thanks for taking the time to reply Poppy Anderson. What is it about her hind leg that you're not keen on?

Can't reduce the hay in the field unfortunately as she is out with my TB who needs to eat as much as he can. Plus they are literally on a mud patch so no grass to keep the occupied, they get up to no good without hay!

lovely markings, and looks well to me. Do not think we will get much grass growing this week having watch the weather forcast for week ahead, so we will all be carrying on with the hay.

I was advised when I took my two on, to make sure I could feel hip bone and ribs, but they should also be just covered. Also to watch for any fat deposites on crest and shoulders as they would be a sure sign that doing 'too well'.

Never had this problem in past as we always worked the enough to keep them fit and lean!

Love a nicely marked colored, she is fab. Her off hind looks a bit odd in the first couple pics but it may just have been the way she was standing, think that's what poppyanderson was commenting on.

With PoppyAnderson I'm afraid, I'm not keen on her hind legs at all. But as said, if she stays sound...

She seems to be splayed and under herself with them. Almost like she was about to squat for a wee. It might be that she was just standing like a weirdo which can kill a CC photo in an instant though, as she looks less like it in some of the other photos.

She also seems quite long backed which makes her look deceptively thin. Dorey was the same. I wouldn't worry about it!

But I luffs her, she is beautiful :D

Thank you Serenity, that's interesting. I am useless at conformation so it's interesting to get a different perspective.

Just out of curiosity, does her hind leg look better in any of these?
