CDJ withdrawn from paris

I would have thought she had given birth to her baby by now but not heard or seen anything.
It is highly possible she's has stepped back from social media and who would blame her. Every detail of your life doesn't have to be posted on line. She might have created an account that she only shares information with actual friends and family instead of the world in general.

For those that haven't seen this. Richard Davison's update on movement/initiatives by the FEI. Does maybe offer some hope as it discusses judging and the changes needed.

Sometimes I wonder if the noseband tightness regulations will do any good at all. After all the horses open their mouths a little way and the noebands are still tight as the horse tries to avoid bit pressure. I think removing them altogether would better show how well the horse was trained.

Yes I agree removing them entirely would give a much truer picture with or without the double. I've no idea why they are compulsory anyway.

Back to the original topic… has CDJ now served her ban? I’ve not heard a thing about her for months. She must have had her baby by now too I would have thought?

I would think as others have said previously that she’s keeping a low profile and her having her baby is a private matter. If this sh*tstorm hadn’t happened she possibly would have put something out.
I doubt she’ll be competing for a while anyway if she has completed said ban.
I would assume that her PR have advised to step out of the limelight.

There was a very interesting thread on this forum a month or so ago where people who ride their horses in grackle nosebands all agreed with each other that the new FEI tightness gauge wasn't appropriate for grackles and that the FEI simply didn't understand grackle nosebands.

It almost cracked me up that people were saying "I can get two fingers down the side, just not under the crossover." Of course you can, that bit's over soft tissue, not bone, that's kind of the point.

Grackles were designed for horses that cross their jaw as an evasion. They were made legal after people made a joke of them being banned by fitting cavessons high and loose and allowing the flash to pull the top down, at which point they became identical in action to a grackle.

Instead of banning both they made both legal and bingo, horses that would evade by crossing their jaws to show their disapproval can suddenly compete and win. Magic!

She voluntarily withdrew from competing before the Olympics, she must have served her suspension by now, surely.
.

It was a year where 'the time served during her provisional suspension will be credited towards the one-year suspension'

Still banned then. Well see what happens in July.

I do think that once she has served her time she should be allowed to start with a clean slate. She has been punished in many different ways.Enough.There are people in the dressage world that have done a lot worse.
I don’t think this will happen, due to portraying the ‘kind’ trainer for do many years.
I think the public is also angry at being duped by the constant portraying of bring ethical / and it was a blatant lie.

A lot do this ethical training bit.Loads of top horse people over the years talking about their horse as their best friend, but I doubt that they treated their actual best friends the way they often treated their horses. For the record, I didn't like what Charlotte did and am pleased that she has been punished but now is the time to move on IMHO. Inadvertently, she may have done dressage a favour as the scrutiny it got, including from the non horse world may effect some welcome changes.

I was shocked at that video , but it’s done dressage horses a favour so things are slowly getting better, although I didn’t like the video I managed to watch it till the end but I only watched a bit of the video at Heigstrand’s yard, and found the violence and rough handling to hard to take… I have no feelings about whether CDJ competes or not but hope she doesn’t push people like Becky out

I can’t see her competing at the same level again to be honest. Not for a long time anyway.

Reputation is everything to an athlete. Sure, once the ban is up, it’s up. But she may well find her reputation takes far longer to recover, if ever.

There is rarely a “clean slate” offered when people consider what you did to be abusive to animals.

I don't yet see any evidence that things are getting better for horses.

I do, the judges are at last rewarding the more harmonious tests, and steward checks seem to be better but still a long way to go… in every day life, even with happy hackers horses can get stressed and performing in large indoor arenas is very unnatural so some stress is to be expected..

If anything it feels like a lot of elite dressage has doubled down. I'm sure there is good work going on out there but the world stage people are aiming to be competitive on is a complete dumpster fire. Maybe positive change is coming and I'm overly cynical.

The video grabs posted above suggest the same old horses are being rewarded and are still showing exactly the same conflict behaviours as months ago.
