I figured since I posted an off-topic video in the club house (Chan draws Simba), I should do a horsey one for this section :D

Drawn on photoshop 7, using screencast-o-matic and a trust tablet - sped up x4.
I hope y'all like it!

I'm going to comment before I watch the video. Chan, you are so talented. I don't know if this was suggested in the previous thread, but have you considered starting a business?

Facebook groups, websites and of course, youtube can all help to promote your artwork.
Bravo!

Well done; people have no idea how long it takes to draw stuff from scratch! I do graphic design and always groan when someone asks for something I can't get as a stock image as they never want to pay. Having said that I'm sure people would pay for these as you have a real talent. Are you using a graphics tablet?

How do I see it? I just have a big gap in the post :(

Does this work? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7Vl-CXKVBY

And thanks so much everyone :D
I would love to start a business and am seriously considering it now. I have no idea how to go about it, I need to have a sit down and a really good think!

Yep, I use a graphics tablet :) only a cheap one though! But it does the job :D

That is incredible! Seriously well done and yes you do most definately have a talent there. I'm racking my brains now as I was talking to a lady a while back who has a business doing illustrations for childrens authors/publicists.
You could start off by making your own greeting cards - personalised for people with their own pets etc.

Here's my attempt at Roberto :p I haven't drawn anything in years and thought I would give it a go. I also painted the Lion King scene on the kids wall years ago..... sadly painted over it:(

Wow that was amazing to watch! I always wondered how you did your drawings, very interesting! Would love to see mine in cartoon :biggrin3:

Oooh Cambrica, that's awesome!! I love the dapples and pose:D

Tiddlypom - I am more or less self taught, I did attend art college for 3 years, but that was for 3D animation rather than drawing :)

JustKickIn - I do :)

And thanks everyone, again! I really really appreciate it :D

You my dear are far too talented to be doing what you are now. That was fascinating - thanks for posting!

Why aren't you working for Pixar or similar?!

Chan that is amazing!
When I used to attempt to draw my horses had the weirdest legs haha.

I agree with the others that you should look into starting a company / commissions, Vista Print very often have deals for 500 or so business cards for cheap :)

Wow that was Amazeballs! Really enjoyed watching that. :) You defo have a special talent for drawing- a business idea (pet portraits/ equine art/ graphics/ handmade cards) is a must! I often buy a drawings/cards/prints like this so there is a market out there.

At the very least you should set up a fb page to display your work, and offer your arty services, the orders would soon start flooding in!

Keep us posted on your plans. :)

I'd make your business name something that represents your business so that people can find it/remember it easily e.g. Graphic My Horse, Cartoon Critters (rubbish examples but you get the jist!)

Have you thought about approaching children's book publishers or animal magazines who use cartoons to jazz up articles? I know there is a new company in the USA who specialise in toys that aim to interest young girls in engineering and there was an interesting article on their site about the lady who invented the products trying to illustrate the books that go with the toys herself. She gave up and went to pro illustrators in the end. This sort of client might be the sort of thing to go after.

If you want any advice on setting up something like this then feel free to PM me as I run a Graphics/Print business and an Oak stable sign business too so might be able to give you some basic advice x

Chan, I have no words, that's fabulous and incredible and amazing, captivating to watch are an understatement! You are a very talented young lady, thank you so much for sharing with us. :)

Chan, you need to get a good portfolio of these and other work, and send them off to every animation studio there is.
While you're doing this, talk to Business Link for advice on starting your own business taking commissions.
Depending on where you are there will be grants available to start up businesses for you to buy new software and advertise.

You have the skills and the help is out there - this is how you will make your money!

Thanks Patterdale and Billabongchick, I'll look into that :D (And Billabongchick, I'll PM you later :))

I do actually have a comic book in mind, but I need to iron out the story and the style. It would be great to have something like that :D

They have a small following already, but I know more would come with a comic (I get messages asking when I'll do it!)
