I am trying to improve my riding position and find it much easier to maintain my lower leg in the correct position when I ride without stirrups.
I currently have an albion K2 legend VSD saddle and find that when I try to put my leg in the correct position for dressage that the stirrup leathers hang back at about 45deg, and then when I do rising trot the leathers go vertical so my leg moves forward and rocks about.
I'm wonding if I was to use a dressage saddle whether this would help me improve my lower leg position and help my muscles get stronger so that when I did ride in my Albion I would find it easier to maintian an improved position.
I know I have a lot of work to do with my loosening up my hips but I'm working on that as well.
So really after some advice if anyone has changed to a dressage saddle and it's helped them improve their position?
