I have been at my current yard for just over a year, In that time it has changed from being a livery yard with storage units for external companies to a livery yard in the middle of all the units now being fully operational work units for mechanics, welders, etc. There is now cars, noise, mess, men and general debris everywhere. There has also been a couple of incedents that i have not been very happy with.
Also when i first went there i was just bringing my boy back into work. Now i am competeing regular dressage sj and xc. The menage surface is no good for jumping and it is a random square which means i cannot practise my dressage tests. So in the run up to any comps i have to hire out menages and travel out to them which is lots of extra expense and time to travel etc.
I have been to look at a great yard, 5mins away, great 20x40school, with proper surface all the jumps i could want a xc paddock. The owner is happy to help in any way, she has a paddock next to the menage which she lets liveries set up jump courses and leave up or she has dressgae boards that can be set up and left out if you need 20x60. So you can jump on grass or a surface. Stables are lovely, you can have your own paddock or share. Park lorry for nothing and there is only a handful of liveries so menage is always free!!
So what would you do i am scared to leave as i feel secure at my current yard and dont want to leave my friends, even though i do know half the liveries at the new yard and have done for years.
Any ideas cookies to all!
