Check out these colours

Blimey, the first one is hot, but the second one...

much?

Is that a submarine in the back?:D

Anyone know what colours they are? I think the 2nd is a champagne, that photo has been floating about recently.

Yep yep thats what they are dont care for the horse much araby kinda things yuk yuk!!!! But the colours ahhhhh

pfft looks nothing like an arab  it's an akhal teke they like arabs are a rather ancient breed. Odd in comparison to most modern western horses they don't carry much weight and tend to have long backs and limbs and swan like necks. Another strong desert war horse type I think.

Submarine:confused: I assumed it was a plane, now that is very 007 :p I thought cremello but champagne makes more sense. Could the first one be black greying out?

AT's are another of those marmite breeds aren't they? Love 'em or hate 'em, excellent endurance horses of course, and, apparently, all rounders too:

Aye they are I always feel the need to defend funny looking equines :o I fell in love and did quite a lot of reading about them. Quite a few eventing and show-jumping particularly in the US and there was one who competed GP dressage.
Just a thought do they carry the silver gene? or would that make his mane grey?

 It's actually quite a feat to get AT's and arabs mixed up. ;)

You can get grey AT's, so it is possible that the first horse is grey.

RE the metallic sheen

I know they are not Arabs I said they are KIND OF ARABY things, they are more like an Arab than any other breed. And it was years ago 1960s when they competed at the Olympics, dont think they would stand a chance now in dressage against the Warmbloods!!

The first photo in the original post is photoshopped.
He is actually bay, but there are several versions of that photo online of him in all different colours.

The second is probably palomino (couldn't see the whole image, internet gave up loading it, and refused to try again), there is no champange gene in Akhal Tekes, their metallic appearance is due to hollow hair shafts.
Not all of them have it though, so that's why you get the normal coat ones, and then the metallic ones. I don't think there has been proper research into the heritability of it, should probably go look that up :D

This may give a clue as to what this one is:

Black, also called Electric Black and Raven Black, is very common in the Akhal-Teke and when added to the famous Akhal-Teke Glow these horses glitter with a blue or purple sheen. This color is so special it has its own name in Russian, voronaya. Cremello is also a common color in the Akhal-Teke and the glow to the coat is so strong it is visible even in a darkened barn.

Crikey - photos are beautiful but I bet their outgoings on "products" is high!

Products? As in cleaning?

Possibly not, my QH has a metallic coat (although not in the class of the AT) It shines whatever the season, is incredibly soft and silky, and self cleaning! He can be covered in liquid mud and when it had dried it simply slides off. I haven't bathed this horse in all the years I have had him -

one of my TBs has a metallic coat too, but nothing like those!

Very fancy and pretty colours (not a fan of the breed but some pretty amazing looking colours!)
