Which place is this??A company in wales is advertising for a 14+ teen to work, unpaid, helping them support the care and exercise of rescue/rehabilitated ponies before they find their new homes. Is advertised as an amazing position with a chance to learn lots.
Is it just me that thinks they should be paid at least apprentice wages?
I don't think the law covers how much a 14 yo should earn but there are extensive regulations about how many hours and what type of work they can do. Normally the business should have approval of the local authority, via a permit, and would need risk assessments for the activities that the child will do. Riding and handling of rescue / rehabbing ponies which have unknown or troubled backgrounds is unlikely to be something that would be considered safe by most local authorities. I'd be surprised it they would get a permit for this.A company in wales is advertising for a 14+ teen to work, unpaid, helping them support the care and exercise of rescue/rehabilitated ponies before they find their new homes. And I can;t find a hacking sharer for Lottie who is a frankly AWESOME hacking horse. She will nanny you round the roads in walk, or gallop enthusiastically all day long, never bats an eyelid at anything, and is huge fun to ride, while being safe, sane and straightfoward. Maybe I should claim she has kissing spines and a rearing habit! Might have more luck.
AE, can we hear a bit more about Lottie so that we can fantasise about sharing her and going on safe but thrilling hacks?God I wish I lived near you, I'd bite someone's hand off to share a safe, fun hack!
Wish I lived closer as would offer as she sounds v like my B Fuzzy.Ok well she's the ultimate alrounder, who is just as happy galloping on a beach, ambling along a river, or picking her way carefully up a Welsh mountain. She self loads, is polite to tack up and happily waits around on the lorry for hours. She also truly loves it. She sometimes asks to turn left up a road away from the farm when you get to the turn near home, where straight on is 5 mins to home and left is a longer loop.
Tempted??
I think you and the lovely Lottie would be much happier living in Merseyside...Ok well she's the ultimate alrounder, who is just as happy galloping on a beach, ambling along a river, or picking her way carefully up a Welsh mountain. Reminds me of the saying:"recently been broken to ride, just needs bringing on now. would suit a novice so they could bring each other on together."
Great match - what could possibly go wrong?Reminds me of the saying:
green plus green equals black and blue
That seriosuly has to be a pi$$take, What are the comments like!"recently been broken to ride, just needs bringing on now. would suit a novice so they could bring each other on together."
And both end up broken lovely"recently been broken to ride, just needs bringing on now. would suit a novice so they could bring each other on together."
Sounds like a kind sole that Horse called Haggis is there any photo of him doing that job or walking by a crowdAt last, something that will cope with the jungle-grandchildren...
"Haggis has done battle re enactments and is really good with swords, guns and cannons and crowds."
Yes, quite a few, including one of him doing a full war charge surrounded by roundheads and cavaliers!Sounds like a kind sole that Horse called Haggis is there any photo of him doing that job or walking by a crowd
Probably not sound....however...I was tempted so I looked at his seller's FB page & she has been trying to sell him since February so there must be something not right with him unfortunately.

Oh that does not sound goo has she had much interest at all I hope she can find someone soon does she have any other horses that do what H has done before he find a kind person to buy him...however...I was tempted so I looked at his seller's FB page & she has been trying to sell him since February so there must be something not right with him unfortunately.
I think we have the same life! I've had my horse for 6 years, been able to ride for just under 3 of them.I'm another one who wishes I lived closer! The day the saddle fitter was coming back with a vanload of possible saddles, Blue came in a smidge lame on her off fore. I swear, if I'm not broken, she is. If she's not broken, I am.

It’s a ‘holistic riding school’ and runs an online pony handling course. Is it a charity?
The same seems to be true for palominos and buckskins. They're often a lot more expensive even if they are terribly put-together.I’m sure some people just see grey fur and then immediately go blind to everything else.
