Cheeky/ridiculous posts you see on Facebook.

A company in wales is advertising for a 14+ teen to work, unpaid, helping them support the care and exercise of rescue/rehabilitated ponies before they find their new homes. Is advertised as an amazing position with a chance to learn lots.

Is it just me that thinks they should be paid at least apprentice wages?
Which place is this??

I don't think the law covers how much a 14 yo should earn but there are extensive regulations about how many hours and what type of work they can do. Normally the business should have approval of the local authority, via a permit, and would need risk assessments for the activities that the child will do. Riding and handling of rescue / rehabbing ponies which have unknown or troubled backgrounds is unlikely to be something that would be considered safe by most local authorities. I'd be surprised it they would get a permit for this.

And I can;t find a hacking sharer for Lottie who is a frankly AWESOME hacking horse. She will nanny you round the roads in walk, or gallop enthusiastically all day long, never bats an eyelid at anything, and is huge fun to ride, while being safe, sane and straightfoward. Maybe I should claim she has kissing spines and a rearing habit! Might have more luck.:D
God I wish I lived near you, I'd bite someone's hand off to share a safe, fun hack!
AE, can we hear a bit more about Lottie so that we can fantasise about sharing her and going on safe but thrilling hacks? 😁

Ok well she's the ultimate alrounder, who is just as happy galloping on a beach, ambling along a river, or picking her way carefully up a Welsh mountain. She self loads, is polite to tack up and happily waits around on the lorry for hours. She also truly loves it. She sometimes asks to turn left up a road away from the farm when you get to the turn near home, where straight on is 5 mins to home and left is a longer loop.

Tempted?? :p

I can confirm that Ambers Echo’s Lottie is indeed a fabulous hack. I was beaming from ear to ear after my recent hack on her. She marches out with great enthusiasm, but is well mannered.

She is as sure footed as a native on stony terrain, too.

The weather was rather pants with lightning forecast, so we turned round early to keep low down, but Lottie would happily have kept on going for considerably longer!

Wish I lived closer as would offer as she sounds v like my B Fuzzy.
B has been off the road for just over 4 weeks and no idea when/if we might resume anything, but at least she's field sound now.
Hope you find a lovely person soon for regular stuff x

I think you and the lovely Lottie would be much happier living in Merseyside... 😇 😁 😁

...however...I was tempted so I looked at his seller's FB page & she has been trying to sell him since February so there must be something not right with him unfortunately. :(
Probably not sound.
the people that hire out reenactment horses put a lot of time and effort into training the horses.
They don’t generally just sell them unless they won’t stay sound

Yes, quite a few, including one of him

Oh that does not sound goo has she had much interest at all 🤔 I hope she can find someone soon does she have any other horses that do what H has done before he find a kind person to buy him

I'm another one who wishes I lived closer! The day the saddle fitter was coming back with a vanload of possible saddles, Blue came in a smidge lame on her off fore. I swear, if I'm not broken, she is. If she's not broken, I am.
I think we have the same life! I've had my horse for 6 years, been able to ride for just under 3 of them.

Is it a charity?
